NDSU NEXT GAME:Lafayette Leopards @ NDSU BISON Preview Alert
Re: NDSU NEXT GAME:Lafayette Leopards @ NDSU BISON Preview A
Sure squawker, sure they were big games, but none of them were big because of EWU. Back in the 60s, when attendance at NDSU football was similar to the attendance at EWU today, I understand they used to introduce the fans at half time at the old Dacotah Field. Maybe you guys should try that?
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

All of our games are big, because we're the new dynasty. You're fuckin' out, we're fuckin' in.

You guys arent all stupid I can tell you that. Just from a national visibility standpoint it was smart to schedule into the Big 3. Besides that, its an inter-divisional game and on the road. A very nice compliment and a good example for all.

There are a lot of similarities between that game and this one: Lafayette @ NDSU BISON. EWU was wise to study the "NDSU Scheduling Model".

Do you believe that the EWU AD legitametly "studied" how NDSU scheduled football games and wanted to specifically follow the way NDSU schedules? (whatever that is...)JBB wrote:You guys arent all stupid I can tell you that. Just from a national visibility standpoint it was smart to schedule into the Big 3. NDSU, as a member of the Dakota Big 3 and one of the top programs in the country is what puts this game on the front page.
USD, also a member of the Dakota Big 3, was a "good get" for EWU, even on the road, because of the "Big 3" association.

The football conglomerate's inferiority complex related to a small teacher's college with low home attendance, located in a sleepy little wheat town...JBB wrote:NDSU, as a member of the Dakota Big 3 and one of the top programs in the country is what puts this game on the front page.

Indeed! Their football attendance is about 8,300 and EWU averages about 6,400 too. Big game for EWU thats for sure. Im not sure the crowd size, or as we like to call it, "the 12th man", is going to have the affect in the EWU @ USD game as it will at the Lafayette @ NDSU game. It should be exciting none-the-less for those EWU fans that are able to make the trip, and the team, to play in a Domed Stadium, in the Dakotas, against a charter Dakota Big 3 member, in front of a huge crowd, just as it will be for the Lafayette contingency up in Fargo the week before.EWURanger wrote:Up to 11,000 students! Coached by Scott Fuchs, all-time great BISON OL, the BISON will be strong along the offensive front. Under Fuchs the OL has really started to shape up. This will be his 3rd year and the OL is really starting to look good. Names the Leopards should get used to:
The Leaders:
Austin Richard OG
Paul Cornick OT
Joe Lund Center
The solid younger players:
Billy Turner OT
Jessie Hinz OL
Ty Beckius OG
Jeff Jerve - wildcard
There will probably be a couple all americans emerging from the group of linemen NDSU has assembled.
This could be as good an offensive line as we have seen at NDSU in few years. Will we see a balanced game? Should we favor the run and try to open the tomato can? Or maybe we should use the pass to set up the run?
If I’m the coach I’m going with use the pass to set-up the run. My first series might all be running plays, but then I would go into a wide open west coast attack. That’s where we really need some work. Ultimately the running game will work. Thats going to be the challenge to the Leopards. Can they stop both the running and passing attacks?

This curious piece came in with my RSS feeds:
The big news today is the split at BV. Apparently the openly gay and sexually flamboyant members are attempting to make a new board. Led by super gay and simple thinking, self-appointed humorist ( ), TransAm Bison
The group is hoping to do "what's best for them". Although the group may have the notoriety necessary to gain some curious attention with their peculiarities, in an effort to gain some credibility they have reached out to several leading posters. Unfortunately it has been reported that Invitations to Capt'n Cat, Lakesbison and JBB have all been rejected.CAS4127 wrote: Tranny (transambison) is gay
The Cat was not available for comment. His wife and kids are in Vegas and he is at home with his beer etc.
Lakes dismissed any talk about the situation. "The Rain Forest is enough for anybody." he said.
JBB could not be reached.

Even if the Griz only win one game next season, I hope that win is against the Bobcats!

I can see why you feel that way. The NDSU BISON beat your big rival, the Montana State Bobcats, at their house in the playoffs in a winner take all match, 42-17. Earlier in the season the Bobcats beat Montana in Bozeman by a much more modest score of course! That game, considering the schedule, cost Montana a playoff spot.
The NDSU BISON went on a 2-1 playoff run.
Lafayette played Lehigh better than UNI.

BTW, congrats on your win against the Bobcats...it made me snicker, too!!
But, what happened in Cheney?
Re: NDSU NEXT GAME:Lafayette Leopards @ NDSU BISON Preview A
The NDSU BISON played them tough, naturally - thanks for taking my back on that on squawker - It was a razor thin 16-9 win after all, at their house too!mlbowl wrote:JBB wrote:

I think its worth mentioning the BISON were coming off the Big Win, on the road @ Lawerence, Ks. in an EPIC Battle pitting FCS underdog The NDSU BISON against The Kansas Jayhawks at their house. The Jayhawks are of course charter members of the FBS Big12 Conference and play in a BCS environment. The BISON pulled off a very physical and well coached win 6-3.
The BISON won and epic and physical battle, one of the most uderrated upsets of all time.
I also think its worth mentioning UNI was unable to advance in the playoffs. NDSU advanced to a 2-1 record. I think those facts taken together show UNIs narrow win over NDSU was circumstantial, just as EWU win was attributed to the subtle influences of bill fette. Thanks again squawker for taking my back on that one too!
Thats what makes this game so important. I think the BISON need to step up and take control early.
