read what was written:
UNIs narrow win over NDSU was circumstantial
UNI didnt display any greater skill. They were not noticably any better. They were more in the right circumstance than anything else and the win was not decisive.

If I understand you correctly you are saying the UNI win was not circumstantial?

-40 rushing yards, 11 sacks. And a painfully obvious discrepancy in speed and athleticism for anyone who actually saw the game. UNI made the bizon their bitch all day long.

The margin was only 8 points because UNI fumbled TWICE inside the 5 yard line, AND missed 2 FGs. Even with those horrible mistakes by the UNI offense, NDSU never was a threat. Any good team would have been able to capitalize on mistakes like that and win a football game. (exactly as SFA did the very next week)

It was a very nice moral victory though for the bizon, keeping the score respectable. :thumb:

Bizon player after the game "they were big and physical up front. They really out-muscled us, out-schemed us, and out played us."

Bohl added, "I think this environment we're going to play in, in Cedar Falls, will a much more hostile environment than Memorial Stadium. That was pretty docile. We'll be playing a much more physical, aggressive team than Kansas. Quite frankly, we're going to be playing a better opponent."

When you get hit hard you fumble. UNI ball carriers were getting hit hard.

When the rush is effective FG go wide, fall short or get blocked.

This is a huge blow to the BISON defense. Pierre is a huge talent. Good news for the Leopards. One less wreaking crew they have to worry about.

Good news for Pierre. He is in school studying engineering. He got in over his head with a couple high end courses. He will remain in school and be active with the team next season. He will have 2 yrs of eligibility left. Good for him, school first football second.

NDSU turned to old friend Nebraska Omaha and picked up defensive corner Bryan Sheperd. Omah released all of their players earlier this year when they dropped football and moved to D1. They are now members of the Summit league.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Shepherd started all 11 games as a redshirt freshman for the Mavericks. He had 48 tackles and two interceptions, including returning one 89 yards for a touchdown against Missouri Southern.

He also recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Ps. there is nothing wrong with a circumstantial win. They count just as much as any other win with reservations for circumstance, thats all. My goodness what a fuss over the facts. 8-)

Im trying to be nice here, but nobody is saying the win didnt count. Dont be ridiculous houndawg. All Im saying is the win was circumstantial begining with the fact it was a win by a razor thin margin the week after NDSUs huge win at BCS Kansas. It was also a road game in a previously noted hostile environment.

Couple that with the fact NDSU was far more successful in the playoffs and it becomes obvious: The UNI win over NDSU last season was circumstantial. Believe-you-me there are plenty of folks that feel the same way.

Not an excuse. Just facts. NDSU was not a good enough team to capitalize on the numerous mistakes by UNI, and still got their asses handed to them.
I think its worth mentioning the BISON were coming off the Big Win, on the road @ Lawerence, Ks. in an EPIC Battle pitting FCS underdog The NDSU BISON against The Kansas Jayhawks at their house. The Jayhawks are of course charter members of the FBS Big12 Conference and play in a BCS environment. The BISON pulled off a very physical and well coached win 6-3.
Now that's an excuse. :thumb:

No wonder you dont understand whats going on! What you are calling an excuse is the circumstance. UNI had a circumstantial win. Its no big deal. Sure you played hard, they all do. Sure you were physical, they all are. Sure your tough on your home field everybody is. Big deal.

If you want to argue UNI is a mistake prone team with average talent thats your business. You of course will win. What Im saying is the fumbles and missed FGs were a result of intensive defensive play, no matter how inept UNI may be. UNI was stymied and quite frankly had the tar knocked out of them. Now if UNI had gone on to accomplish something in the playoffs to show they are a team not only measured by the MVFC but by the nation, as are the NDSU BISON, what your trying to say might have some validity. Because UNI did not measure up in the playoffs it can only be concluded they werent that good, all things considered that is.

Its no big deal, considering circumstances as they were. 8-)

Gil is absolutely corrrect we should all be in awe of UNI. Whats the point in even playing a team that thinks they are so good? Well, there are always the excuses on why they didnt win by more. Naturally when they lose you can say things like you guys really suprised us or we didnt show up, you know those types of excuse.

Well, at least until you can actually get a MVFC win against them.

jabber, everyone on the bison team and coaching staff can and has admittted that they got the crap kicked out of them by the Panthers. You and lakes are the only sore-loser, excuse making, moral victory accepting dumbfucks that cant admit the truth.

I have provided you the lopsided statistics from the game, quotes from your coach who says UNI is better than Kansas, and quotes from your own players who admit that they were overwhelmed by UNI.

I will admit that you have been very good a bragging up anything supporting your point, but you also provided me with excuses on why there were so many fumbles, excuses on why there were so many missed FGs and you have failed to provide and explanation about the obvious conclusions fans are bound to come to about the 2010 UNI team once they see the playoff record. Certainly they became irrelevant as the BISON charged ahead. After providing you with all of that and more you are still trying to make excuses why the win was not circumstantial.
