An average reader will probably not notice a UND or UNA score but they will notice the NDSU BISON score. Ranked teams are what we like to call "spotlight squads". They play in "spotlight games".
Thanks for proving my point... you haven't provided a single reference to a nationally syndicated publication announcing this game at all, let alone as one that is significant on a national level. You become a bigger dumbass with every word you speak. What are you, some kind of Jaded Bison Bitch?

Sure did, and it had absolutely NOTHING to do with this game supposedly being of 'national significance'. :coffee:

It touched on some of themes why this game is a significant national event: A Spotlight Game 8-)

If you listened to Patty Viverito radio interview you would be fully aware that she also touched on many of those same themes.

Facts about this game:

1) first meeting between these two, proud programs.
2) will be one of the biggest games in the country that weekend. 19,000 fans are expected inside. 25,000 outside the storied venue for sure.
3) its going to get huge media coverage including, tv, radio, MFVC web support, etc, etc.
4) the score will regularly scroll across the bottom of the screen on all major sports networks. There will be blurb stories about the BISON.
5) the score will be announced at all major FCS stadiums in the country
6) the game will get coverage"back east".
7) excellent example for other programs on intra-divisional scheduling and how it fits into an overall scheduling model that is not only productive for the team itself, but also the divsision and NCAA football as a whole.

"Thats the type of thing that gets noticed coast-to-coast," one guy said.

We had some of that in the stands at Caughlin in 2009.

Im sure the Lafayette fans will be glad to know NDSU is picked to finish 2nd in the MVFC with UNI first. UNI is the team that lost to Lehigh last year in the playoffs. NDSU is the team that beat Montana State, Robert Morris and the Jayhawks. Lehigh and Lafayette fought to a near draw.

With NDSU coming in second and the Leopards coming in after that great game against Lehigh last season the competition and athleticism of this game promise to live up to UNI and Lehigh standards. A lot of people are fooled by the 2-9 Leopards. They need to remember the Leopards are returning some experience headlined by their QB.

Lafayette should come in every bit as competitive, talented and well-coached as the UNI Panthers. This should be a great game and a good barometer of what is to come when UNI rolls into town.

NDSU starts Football Practice on the 3rd. I had thought it was the second. I dont know how much they will get done but they should be able to pass out the equipment.

If NDSU doesn't roll Lafayette by 28 at the VERY least, and have them put away comfortably by early in the 3rd quarter, I would have serious concerns about your ability to compete in the MVFC.

Maybe Lafayette's QB will be the one that exposes the Bison secondary. If it happens that soon 7-4 will be a good record.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

Lafayettes QB is going to be up against guys like this All-MVFC defensive back:

Marcus Williams, NDSU 5-11 191 So. Minnetonka (Minn.) Hopkins High

Our Defensive backfield will have at least 1 player in the NFL in the next couple years. Its NFL quality.

Nobody in the country even knows where EWU is playing next. The entire FCS nation knows Lafayette is at NDSU BISON. The entire country knows what happened in the playoffs last year too. Lafayette will come into Fargo and folks are expecting a team like UNI. All indications are that UNI and Lafayette match-up pretty well with the advantage to the Leopards.

EWU is playing @ UW, the first time UW has ever played an FCS team. I am in the country. So are UW and EWU players. You are wrong, because you're some kind of dumbass or something. I just asked a couple of my friends who are EWU/FCS fans if they knew where Lafayette is playing. Their response was "Who is Lafayette?"

So if Lafayette > UNI, and UNI > ndsu, then Lafayette > ndsu. :thumb:
