The problem is that you said they were top 10, and picked to win the MVFC.
They are not top 10.
And the only poll that has them winning the MVFC at this point was written by some Bison fan, on an NDSU blog.

What do you guys think of the Necks this year? We lost a lot offensively and defensively, with Barr, Lito, Glazier and very underrated Kretchman gone from last years squad.
We did get some good transfers, with a big NG Emeka Nwankwo from Notre Dame, a transfer from Air Force CB Martinez Davis, Ball State LB Theon Dixon, and a WR from New Mexico Myles Daughtry, I think we should have talent, but it may take some time to gel, and we may be extremely thin. I'm worried about our defense still, mostly due to how bad it has been the last few years.
I suspect Western will struggle, because of the great loss of talent. But I think they are pretty well coached, and could still be a tough out this year, as they build towards the future.
Ive always thought WIU was one of the better teams in the league. Very competitive, always have good players and well coached. I think the visiting team has always won since NDSU and WIU started league play?

I don't see how Delaware could be at 5 after losing Pat Devlin, Walters & Bratton at DB. Richmond with Aaron Corp could be dangerous, but the Spiders also lose Parker (DT) & Rogers (DB) who were quite good for them. I would think William & Mary would be a top 5 team for sure. UNI at 6 seems a bittttt high in my opinion.

There is no way on God's green earth that 3 of the top 9 teams in the NATION reside in the Big Sky. That's just laughable.

Clenz, you can rip on me at the end of the season if I am wrong, but their is no way in hell we finish 8th in the league this year. 5th or better in my eyes. I just cannot fathom us being as bad as last year with MUCH more depth and MUCH better talent on defense.
Offense was young last year and is a year older. Watch out, they will be a handful yet again.

team should use it as bulletin board material/motivation to prove the pollsters wrong.
Im not quite sure about the roster situation at YSU. I do think they can replace players and have a good eye for talent. I didnt think they were a bad team last year. They were an equal match for most teams in the league but had a hard time with the win. If they retain a lot of players its a calssic bubbling under situation. I think they are too low at #8.

This group has no "pedigree". Its a good guess but thats all, a guess. Look at the entire line-up. There are logical flaws from the top down. They do have a few teams placed correctly.

Second transfer from Miami, FL this off-season. Kid had offers to LSU, Penn State, Virginia Tech, among others. He joins a very deep corps at LB for the Penguins which includes Taylor Hill, former MVFC all-conference (Michigan transfer), Davion Rogers (Michigan transfer), and the likes of Thomas Sprague, Ali Cheaib, and oh yeah, the three guys that started last year.
I can't wait to see what Jewel Hampton does at the FCS level (Iowa transfer). I expect at least 90 rushing yards per game from him. Of course, I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time someone underestimated the MVC (Minnesota)

He's here because of bad knees I think, although Deji Karim came back from a bad knee...hope Jewell has a work ethic.

The MVC as a whole was young last year. Most teams could be significantly better and have the same record as last year - not saying they will, but the potential is there.

Yeah...he seems to forget that UNI was breaking in 7 or 8 new starters on offense, and 4 or 5 on defense, yet this year brings back 9 on both sides of the ball.....
Don't expect UNI to be as bad as we were last year.
