This is truly a joke. They aren't even that similar...

Historic rivalries are part of what makes college football so great but when you think of arch-enemies, Southern Miss and Iowa certainly don’t come to mind.

But things are turning ugly between the schools as a court ruled last week that Iowa has the right to stop Southern Miss from using its Golden Eagle icon that the court said too closely resembles’ the Hawkeyes legendary tiger hawk. As a result, Iowa could pursue further legal action that ask for damages from Southern Miss or stops them from using the new logo altogether.

Southern Miss unveiled its new logo in 2003, which replaced the “Attack Eagle.” In our opinion, the Attack Eagle is much cooler anyway, so this could be a blessing in disguise.

Needless to say, the Southern Miss athletic department probably doesn’t agree.

The Waukee, Iowa, school district has a new "W." The suburban Des Moines district faced a simmering dispute with the University of Wisconsin, which claimed Waukee's "W' looked too much like the university's "W,' which is used to market Badger merchandise. Wisconsin had threatened to file a lawsuit against Waukee for trademark infringement.

Waukee officials decided to change their "W' to avoid a costly court fight. The new "W' looks similar to the old one, but stands straighter and is a different shade of purple. It will appear on the district's stationery, school scoreboards, the high school's emblem painted on the gym's floor, and on team uniforms.

FSU did it too, but the backlash made them withdraw the case. Just found out the Noles are going after Georgia high schools.

There are thousands of high schools and whatnot that could be in deep chit over stuff like this. Hell even my high school uses one we shouldn't be. I've told them twice that it's not such a hot idea since the school we use it from has already gone after people before.
