just don't to try to make it out to be Boise State v Oklahoma or Oregon. Its not. (For that matter neither is UNI v Iowa or Iowa State).

depends on the situation. when the BCS team is ranked, and if the FCS team pulls the upset, then the nation will take notice. at least for a week or two. Of course, then they promptly drop that BCS team out of the rankings. but yeah, outside of that scenario, there isn't much interest outside of the region itself.

Let's compare that to the stadiums NDSU has played in

Kansas - 50,071 ( vs. NDSU was 48,417...not even full capacity)

average attendance for year 44,851.

Iowa State - 55,000 (vs. NDSU was 48,831 on a marvelous day weather wise, still over 6k short of capacity)

AVG 46,342

Wyoming - 29,181 (19,568 vs NDSU...10,000 short of capacity)

avg 18,234

Central Michigan - 30,255 ( vs NDSU 16,522...just HALF of capacity) avg 23,563
Metrodome - 64,111 (vs NDSU 63,088 in 07 and 62845 in 06...pretty respectable, but not Minnesota's record attendance)

49,025 avg and 52,327

As shown above the NDSU BISON filled those stadiums above average attendance for the year and sometimes, as in the case of Kansas and Minnesota, significantly over their average game attendance for the year.

NDSU v Gophers is sold out already, Nebraska is the only other game at TCF stadium sold out.

stub hub has ONLY 174 NDSU tickets left, while over 1100 for Nebraska, Wisc and Iowa. Demand for NDSU is through the roof and this game is gonna be special.

NDSU will have 20,000+ fans @ TCF and the party starts ASAP as the 1st 2 games for NDSU are warmup's.

Goddam, the shift in median IQ level of N. Dakota is liable to lift Fargo out of the flood plain, if only for a day or so. Hope It don't cause a sink hole or earthquake in Wisconsin.

You can be as silly or foolish as you please but Lakes is correct. NDSU BCS and FBS games have had attendance below sellout but much higher than average for the home team. Its really not NDSUs fault those teams dont sellout but it is certainly to NDSUs credit that attendance is up significantly when the BISON are in town for the Big Game!

This is really going to be evident for this game. Im really not sure what year UNI had those crowds. I have heard they have a failed national championship run or two on the record but the past is the past. NDSU has 8 National Championships too, and a sold out BCS Big 10 Gopher game at TCF Stadium This Season!

Most teams have higher attendances at the start of the season or first home game regardless of who they are playing. It is impressive when an FCS team travels well though. Of course FCS fans usualyl enjoy going to close FBS games their teams are in and travel for those better then against other FCS teams. But it is fun to see NDSU fans get excited.

Thats been one of the hallmarks of the "NDSU Scheduling Model" I have been telling the guys about. NDSU likes to schedule the BCS and FBS for that matter here in the heart land where BISON fans have a chance to see their team play and win. Its a great model and includes a caveat against inter-divisional scheduling as well, doesn't it guys!
