Kickball. This game is another one of America's favorite pasttimes. Mrs. Catfish and I went to a family picnic and they were playing kickball. Now, not to brag but they were losing until I came. WE lost the game, 18-2, but I scored 1 and brought in another. THe second game we would've won by 2 if we hadn't let to random, 8 year olds play and gone easy on them. My body is beat, all that running. The Mrs. sister wouldn't move to catch the ball, or catch it. She wouldn't run or move her fat ass to help the team...oh well.
Ahhh. Spring is coming and I intend to be outside so much more. Any of you play kickball? I know Charleston has a public league and I considered joining before I got married.

Dude, I wish we had the camera. I had a great time. It felt so good to get out and play. I spent the morning teaching my 8 year old neighbor how to throw a football, the kid is hooked. As soon as I got home he asked if we could throw it. I had to take a rain check though. The weather has been shitty but cleared up yesterday and is a comfortable 73 degrees.

Kegball is the same as kick ball but it is played with rotating pitchers with an 8 gallon keg on the pitchers mound and one on second base. Lots of manditory drinking rules.

Re: Kickball
I used to be the cat's pajamas in kick ball, and I would kill to play it again. I wonder how far a kickball can fly realistically. Do you think there is a limit to how far you can kick it?

Re: Kickball
We normally set boundaries that are foul lines and the "fence" for HR purposes. You can kick them pretty far, but just about everyone was able to kick it a certain distance. Regardless of who as at, it would only be airborne for so long so you eventually gauge where it will be.wideright82 wrote:I used to be the cat's pajamas in kick ball, and I would kill to play it again. Re: Kickball
At our local Boys' and Girls' Club, we had a version called Screwball set in a small gym. It was played on a basketball court with a wall behind one basket, a flush wall along one sideline, and the other sideline was open. The endlines were the "bases." The ball was live off the side wall; the far wall was a HR if it was hit; over the wall was an out. All outs were either via a catch or via the butterfly rule with the proviso that headshots were not allowed. A ball hitting the opposite backboard was an HR, while a lucky shot through the hoop got a 10-run bonus. The kicker could request a certain pitch: flat, baby bounces, etc.
Lots of fun.
