This topic is listed under "Announcements" .... How do you list something as an announcement? Or don't you....
I'm guessing you need to be a site moderator or something to do that.

Re: College Gameday 4 FCS
Question: How many of you watch College Gameday every Saturday morning? I know I do. The reason I tune is to listen to the commentary, just like listening to your favorite morning radio show. Where the location is, is really just a novelty. Sure they do a little 15 min. spot for the host institution, but they would still spend the majority of their time discussing the major FBS happenings.
My whole point is that, I don't believe broadcasting from an FCS site will hinder ESPN's advitising revenue at all because all the normal viewers will still watch.
I think its a great idea.

Typically if it's not interfering with me going to a game, I'll watch College Gameday every week.

Good point. I watch it as often as possible, and not because of the location.FWJack wrote:Question: How many of you watch College Gameday every Saturday morning? I know I do. Not really, as far as ESPN Gameday is concerned. For them to feature gameday at a school that is not one of the bluebloods or one of a handful of other power schools is a pretty uncommon and unique deal.Skjellyfetti wrote:D-I basketball is a completely differnt ballgame.DJH wrote:College basketball Gameday went to Southern Illinois in 2008. Re: College Gameday 4 FCS
Over the next several years, several rivalries will hit their 100th game, that could be good press for FCS and the featured schools.
Cat/Griz
Rabbits/Bison
Engineers (Mountain Hawks)/Leopards
And it would be great if there were some late season top 10 OOC match-ups, but those seem to be going to the way side. How about one of the Semi-finals in mid Dec? Post season for FBS, and only competition is some no name bowl?

146, to be exact. Perhaps the three games he listed were meant to be IN ADDITION to those that are hitting 100 games this year.Grizalltheway wrote:Pretty sure Lehigh/Lafayette is well over 100, too.AZGrizFan wrote: Griz/Cat has been played 110 times already.

ASU/Montana would be a great choiceSkjellyfetti wrote:Montana - App State in 2009 got close to 5,000,000 viewers. That's pretty damn good.bluehenbillk wrote: Good point. Montana - AppState is a huge game with great FCS interest, but it doesn't translate at all to the College Gameday audience. Again, there has to be something above & beyond what happens between the white lines that would interest the viewer whether they're in SEC country, Pac-12 country or Big 10 country.
I don't think there's a chance in hell they come to Boone or Missoula... but, just saying. More college football fans are aware of App State and Montana than you realize.

Re: College Gameday 4 FCS
I lived in Massachusetts in 2007 when Gameday actually went to Amherst to cover the 123rd meeting between Williams and Amherst... of Division III. The funny thing about it for me was, Amherst and Williams play in the NESCAC, but neither was even playing for the NESCAC title. I was at the defacto NESCAC title game between Tufts and Middlebury in Medford while the Gameday crew was at a site that wasn't even in contention for the division-III crown in the conference the teams competed in!
So, gameday does go outside of the box sometimes. I don't know how it happens or who is in charge of calling that particular play, but I do know that in November of 2007, they were in D-III country.

I wish there was a larger stadium in Montana somewhere for a neutral Cat/Griz spot, we could easily top 40,000 I'd have to think.

How about Grambling v Southern around the holidays these two schools have a rivalry that ranks among the best ever.bluehenbillk wrote:Great idea! However I haven't seen a post yet that would produce anything but yawns in Bristol. If you want ESPN to bring Gameday to a FCS locale there is going to have to be a story behind it - something bigger than the game itself as every week of the season they'll point to 25-50 bigger games from a national standpoint. Grambling & Southern have the bands, what would this game have??
