Nothing is impossible but I think North Dakota State going directly to the conference formally legitimately known as the Big 12 as a replacement for a Texas A&M program that went to the SEC is extremely unlikely.

Funny thing about the Big 12 is I would've thought they'd have been interested in TCU. But they weren't. I think it has something to do with Texas not wanting them in. I heard Boone Pickens' talk about them one time and he didn't want them in either.

I would put $$ on a school like App doing a better job out the gate in C-USA than NDSU. The only thing CLOSE to a legit FBS hope for NDSU (due to both geography and potential) is the MAC, and I'm not even sure about them. They're way too far from the C-USA and Sun Belt footprint. (Admittedly, that hasn't stopped the Sun Belt before, but NDSU would be a bit much even for them.)

NDSU fans have had to put up with their crap for years and like it has been previously mentioned both have been banned from the NDSU board. They have nowhere else to go and nobody else to talk to so they jump from board to board and continue on with their nonsense. NDSU fans are very happy to be a part of the FCS and know the team has a lot more to prove until they deserve any respect in this league. What is most annoying is that approx. 100 student athletes are working their tails off year round to make the team better and gain respect for the school and then have two simple minds not associated with the football program in any way other than being a fan destroy any respect the school may gain by posting nothing but pure vomit.

Please do not tie NDSU together with Lakes or JBB. They just spew their crap to get people sucked into an argument.

NDSU won't qualify for the C-USA, and have no hope for the Big Ten OR the Big XII. About the only choice left would be the MAC, and not only would the directional Michigans laugh in NDSU's face, with the footprint going as far as Buffalo, that's a non-starter to begin with.

Looks like the last football post there was over two months ago. Another rational thought by JiBBles!

There is little chance NDSU is headed to the Big 12. If there were a perfect storm an NDSU invite wouldnt be so far fetched if:

1) A Big 12 type stadium were built or guaranteed to be built a-la Villanova and their situation.
2) NDSU could come up with another 5-6 million in the athletic budget
3) Adequate practice building could be built with stadium

In 2017 it may become a lot more difficult if not impossible for FCS teams to find FBS/BCS games. If that is the case NDSU could get aggressive in seeking out a invitation to an FBS conference and the Big 12 wouldnt be out of the questions if items 1-3 were under control.

Right now NDSU is not publicly aggresive about an FBS move. Until they are it is out of the question.
