Thank you Sarah Palin, you gave me another reason to dislike you.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife service has taken to the skies in helicopters and super cubs to shoot their wolves right here in my own county, and state, because the damage they are doing is too expensive for the government to bear.

I have watched them personally.

This, after using 25 million of the tax payer's money to import the first 25 wolves to Yellowstone in 1995.

They are also very obviously lying about the true numbers that exist out there, I have personally been a witness to that as well.

Palin is a political hack, and comes off as an arrogant ass hole when she gets her gums flapping, but I seriously doubt they are hurting the wolf population in Alaska by even a small fraction.

All the bunny huggies out there sitting in their homes getting upset over this have nothing to base their outrage over other than falling victim to the misinformation and hyperbole being fed them from those with an agenda and the money to put it out there.

Well, I'm not sure if they are hurting the numbers my qualm is that they are flying, tracking and tiring out these animals, killing them for the purpose of increasing the number of Moose and Caribou, which they want for humans to hunt. It's a fvcked up logic. They are going to kill wolves because they are harming thier own hunting. Fvcken whack-jobs.

Bingo! Predators make the herds stronger. Helicopter hunting for cattle? I'd be right there.

Cattle ranchers and game hunter/poachers are the real problem.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Poachers have no excuse. You always hear about people poaching fish, crab, shrimp, etc... around here. People take more than the limit of deer, croc, turkey and duck. You can hunt, but follow the rules and be humane. Creatures deserve respect.

Poaching fish is ok, I personally prefer it grilled though. One thing I do like to poach, is eggs. Deeeeeeelicious.

Oh, different kind of poaching? Nevermind then.

That is funny. I do, however, share his views on the rich fvcks getting to range their livestock in our national forests for about two bucks per AUM. Guess when the wolves finally terminate the elk population here, there will be plenty of angus meat eating off our state and federal lands.

We are closer than a lot of people realize.

Yeah, I have said it before, our local herd has been shredded, chased from the national forest and onto our irrigated farms just outside of town. 35+ miles further east than they once were.

I have no idea what an AUM is, but I know lots of cattle ranchers, and NONE of them are even CLOSE to any definition of "rich".

And any money that they make is HARD earned money. Period. You could pay me $500,000 per year and I STILL wouldn't want to spend my life cattle ranching.

AUM is "animal units monthly". That includes a cow and it's calf(s). So, with the price of hay these days, if you are one of these long time big wigs (Hunt Brothers, Phillip Anschutes, or the newly anointed David Leuschen), you get to feed the cows on two bucks a month, instead of fifty bucks like everyone else.

They have added to their gazillions by holding down these ridiculously low leases on the national forests, pooping all over the roads and camp grounds, and garnering all the protection from predators at again, the tax payers expense.

No elk burger, no problem. ;)

As long as you don't get those people out there that shoot a llama and tag it as an elk then bring it to the a local butcher shop.

Well, we have had instances of folks checking fully field dressed mules through game check stations in the past. Wish they would just check 'em through, and let 'em eat what they shot.

Don't know for sure, but I bet llama is not good on the table.

We had one in Missoula about 5 or 6 years ago and the Billings crowd got one this year. The guy in Billings was from NYC.
