A-Rod & Steroids
Even as an ardent Yankees hater, I've never thought of Alex Rodriguez as a steroid user...

Re: A-Rod & Steroids
Honestly, at this point who really cares? Let's just let BB back into the game while we're at it and induct Pete Rose into the Hall....
This is all much ado over nothing at this point.

More athletes have used them than athletes who haven't.
As long as they aren't under the current rules who cares. There's nothing anyone can do.

So there's no steroid to help you hit in the clutch?

Re: A-Rod & Steroids
Let me start off by saying that I hate Alex Rodriguez. Now let me follow that up with, who gives a flying fuck that these players took steroids? Honestly, do steroids help your eyes? Do they help you have a flawless swing? Also, if the pitchers in the league are using too, does it give more of an advantage to the batter or something? Even Barry Bonds, given a study done, reducing his "steroid" years to his average, and then reducing it due to age would still have been at number 2 on the list. I'm sick of the steroids crap, and A-Rod, pompous douche.

Re: A-Rod & Steroids
So the most fascinating thing about this whole A-Hole situation (to me at least) is how only his name got released out of the 104 players that tested positive? Don't even try and say that he's on the only star on the list, because we all know that's not true. Petite and Giambi are both probably on the list as well.
Anyway, so according to ESPN there were only four groups that had access to the list (or a part of the list)
1. MLB
2. Players Union
3. The Justice Department investigators/lawyers in the Bonds case
4. The players on the list knew they failed and had received written notification of it.
MLB wouldn't leak the list, they've been trying to bury this for years.
The Union wouldn't leak the list, they represent the players on the list.
The Justice Department would compromise their case against Bonds if they leaked the list.
A-Rod would leak it himself? No.......but he did recently cheat on his wife with an old hag Madonna and file for divorce. Pretty likely she would have known he tested positive and when A-Rod was in London banging Madonna's leathery old ass, she probably had access to the paperwork. So, in the end, A-Rod probably ruined his entire career legacy all to bang Madonna. It could have at least been someone hot.

Good for A-Rod for fessing up! I can accept that much easier than someone like Clemens denying forever when we all know it's true...

Here's the article from ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3894847
"Overall, I felt a tremendous pressure to play, and play really well" in Texas, the New York Yankees third baseman said. "I had just signed this enormous contract I felt like I needed something, a push, without over-investigating what I was taking, to get me to the next level."
Rodriguez added: "I am sorry for my Texas years. I apologize to the fans of Texas."
Rodriguez, who joined the Yankees for the 2004 season after a trade from Texas, said "all my years in New York have been clean." He also described the recent turn of events as the biggest challenge of his life but added it felt good to be honest about what he's done in the past.
"It's been a rough 15 months here for me," Rodriguez said. "I was stupid for three years. I was very, very stupid."
He also said: "The more honest we can all be, the quicker we can get baseball [back] to where it needs to be."
Rodriguez said he stopped taking substances after injuring himself at spring training in 2003 with the Rangers.
"It wasn't a real dramatic day. I started experimenting with things that, today, are not legal," he said, "that today are not accepted ... ever since that incident happened, I realized that I don't need any of it."
He said the culture earlier this decade of taking performance-enhancing substances was "prevalent." "There were a lot of people doing a lot of different things," Rodriguez said, noting that he wasn't specifically pointing out the Rangers.

Well I have to give him some sort of respect for coming clean and being a man about it and putting it on the table.
