I heard from someone high up the food chain that UND would be known as "North Dakota" for the near term and that there would be no rush to get a new name. That a new name is probably a couple of years out.

So for the time being "The University of North Dakota" will be the name. I would love to see DAKOTA on the front of the jerseys.

North American aboriginals do not deserve the respect to be honored with a nickname. That's why today's progressive America is moving away from honoring these people by naming sports teams after them.
