It is still important to remember that NDSU was supposed to play Georgia Southern for one of the OOC games...had they not bought out the contract we wouldn't be having this conversation. It is a real shame that game can't be played.


But in all seriousness, I completely forgot what the title of this thread was until I went to respond and saw the title "UND Nickname Change"...and it turned into this conversation.

Haven't you noticed that it is impossible to carry at UND conversation without a NDSU fan turning it into something else.

Carry that over into the other 89%, and I'd bet you're still looking at a 60-65% yes vote.

So we have a group of people, who are not of Native American ancestry, are driving this issue down the throats of the good people of North Dakota to satisfy their insecurity and self interests. This has gone waaaayyy beyond lunacy. I like what a semi-famous radio personality here in North Carolina is fond of saying. Why do you think this has gone on for so long? The vote they are talking about was not binding and no letter from the Tribe was forthcoming as required by the agreement with the NCAA. They stonewalled the tribes and fought the NCAA, which was responding to internal political pressures from the Native Americans and their allies, to the bitter end without ever bargaining in good faith.
