Here's what I don't understand: the tests were supposed to be ANONYMOUS. I thought that meant they didn't KNOW who the samples belonged to, but were just looking for a number of positives that was either above or below the threshold? They knew 104 players tested positive, but I always thought they didn't know the NAMES of the 104 players?grizzaholic wrote:And Sherlock Holmes solved the case.danefan wrote:So the most fascinating thing about this whole A-Hole situation (to me at least) is how only his name got released out of the 104 players that tested positive? Don't even try and say that he's on the only star on the list, because we all know that's not true. Petite and Giambi are both probably on the list as well.
Anyway, so according to ESPN there were only four groups that had access to the list (or a part of the list)
1. MLB
2. Players Union
3. The Justice Department investigators/lawyers in the Bonds case
4. The players on the list knew they failed and had received written notification of it.
MLB wouldn't leak the list, they've been trying to bury this for years.
The Union wouldn't leak the list, they represent the players on the list.
The Justice Department would compromise their case against Bonds if they leaked the list.
A-Rod would leak it himself? No.......but he did recently screw cheat on his wife with an old hag Madonna and file for divorce last month. Pretty likely she would have known he tested positive and when A-Rod was in London banging Madonna's leathery old ass, she probably had access to the paperwork. So, in the end, A-Rod probably ruined his entire career legacy all to bang Madonna. It could have at least been someone hot.

They kept the names and the test scores in different files. Supposedly the only people who knew who failed were the player, they got a letter from MLB, and the Federal Govt., after they seized all the records it was only a matter of time before they put the tests and the players names together.AZGrizFan wrote:Here's what I don't understand: the tests were supposed to be ANONYMOUS. NEW YORK (SI.com) -- In a lengthy press conference at Yankees spring training complex in Tampa, Fla., Alex Rodriguez gave additional details and information about his use of performance-enhancing drugs, which he maintains took place only between 2001 and 2003.
Rodriguez says a cousin, whom he would not identify, first introduced him to a substance he referred to as "Boli" that could be purchased in the Dominican Republic and brought to the United States.
"It was his understanding it would give me a dramatic energy boost and was otherwise harmless," Rodriguez said in a prepared statement before the question and answer portion of his press conference. "My cousin and I, one more ignorant than the other, decided it was a good idea to start taking it. We consulted no one and it was pretty evident that we didn't know what we were doing. We did everything we could to keep it between us. I stopped taking it in 2003 and haven't taken it since. I stopped taking it for several reasons. In 2003 I had a serious neck injury and it scared me half to death. I was scared for my career and my life after baseball. Second after players voted for a mandatory drug policy, I realized how serious this all was and I decided to stop then."
Rodriguez says he took an injection of the over-the-counter substance roughly twice a month for three years while he was playing for the Texas Rangers. Rodriguez stood by his previous statements that he did not take any banned substances before or after joining the Rangers.
