Either way, you guys are definitely headed in the right direction. Stuff like this stadium expansion only helps improve the rivalry.SACCAT wrote:Both Big Sky and Moonlight have been in bankruptcy off and on. You can buy a pass for both for a day or for the year, but it is not cheap. And like I said, MSU stadium is looking great, but I don't think anyone in Bozeman thinks it is the best in the state much less in the FCS.grizcountry420 wrote:
Moonlight Basin has had finacial problems, so i think that would be a reason why Big Sky doesnt want to be associated with them, needless to say both have great terrain!

Honestly, Montana's stadium looks like it was just random stadium parts thrown together to me. Especially the corner pieces. Still a great stadium, but I don't think it's the best anymore.

It was built in sections over the years. Here's what it looked like in 1986:Skjellyfetti wrote:Honestly, Montana's stadium looks like it was just random stadium parts thrown together to me. Especially the corner pieces. Still a great stadium, but I don't think it's the best anymore.

The "best" thing about Montana isn't necessarily the "look", it's the feeling of being right on top of the action because there's no god-awful TRACK between the fans and the field. And being fully enclosed makes the noise level reach epic proportions.Skjellyfetti wrote:Honestly, Montana's stadium looks like it was just random stadium parts thrown together to me. And it's cold. But then again, ASU knows that, don't they?

If we're going to nitpick, so is having an off-center press box and one side of the stadium significantly larger than the other.JMUpurplehazed wrote:That WTF section in the corner is a bit unusual

Truce griz...not sure how, but when in our stadium, the size difference between the east and west is not all that pronounced. Looking forward to hearing away fans comment on Bridgeforth after seeing Bridgeforth. Pictures just don't do it justice.

If not, is the game on @ Dukes or wherever else the Griz get coverage in Phoenix?

As far as pictures not doing a stadium justice, what surprises me the most about people seeing Washington/Grizzly Stadium for the first time, is that no one mentions how small it seems to be "in person"!
Sure, we can get 25k + in "The Mecca", but every time I set foot inside, or on that holy; venerated; sacred, and hollowed ground, I can't help but think; "Damn, it looks sooo much bigger in the pics!"

Coming from a Cat fan, the answer is no. Top 5, probably. But until we do another addition or two we won't be #1.

Re: Best FCS Stadium Now In Bozeman, MT?
Montana could put in another steep addition like on the East side all the way around the south and west sides. Now that would be epic.

Re: Best FCS Stadium Now In Bozeman, MT?
It's not about being nicer it about being better. One thing that makes Washington Grizzly Stadium so great is that the field sit below ground level, so the noise is so loud and the fans are right on top of the field. They built it that way because originally they were going to expand and put a dome on the top of it. Thank God they didn't.Go Lehigh TU Owl wrote:Montana fans believe their stadium is without question nicer than Princetons?

Don't know if this means anything to this current argument or not but...

10/31/2009 Montana (H) vs Weber

I see some key differences, do you??
Princeton still has a badass stadium though...

Army,
You can't compare the fanbases of the two schools, although when Princeton has good teams they average 15k or so. The Cornell-Princeton game featured two 2-4 teams going nowhere so obviously the enviroment is less than stellar. I would love to see Princeton Stadium for a big game. I have to believe it would be very loud given the combination of a below ground field, upper decks and the exterior wall.
