The main thing is don't turn the ball over and EWU will have a good chance to get the win. If I was EWU's coach I would definitely try and limit how many times your QB throws the ball...he can be a little bit of a loose cannon at times it seems. EWU is gonna need a 55/45 or 60/40 run pass ratio to get a win. Good Luck Eagles!
Agreed on the QB situation. Dude's brilliant when he plays within himself, but not so much when he forces things. In all fairness, I wouldn't use the NDSU game as a very good benchmark of his abilities, but I am assuming you've seen him in other games.
About limiting his throws.....not going to happen, I don't think. I expect EWU to lineup 3 and 4 wide and use the short passing game to try to work the ball down the field, mixed in with the occasional shot down-field, which we have shown we can get a few of. I don't expect us to have a lot of success running the ball on their defense, so I think the only way we are going to be able to move the ball on a consistent basis is by throwing it. Unfortunately, with as many times as I think we're going to end up throwing it, I wouldn't be too surprised to see us turn the ball over some.
And I think we're going to need a *FEW* TO's of our own.
I honestly don't know what to make of this game. We've had mixed results playing Pac-12 teams in the past...everything from nail-biters to getting completely pasted. Unfortunately, we have yet to beat one. Guess there's a first for everything, though.
Quick short passes might work, but if your boy is chucking the rock 35+ times there is a much higher chance of TO as you said and also a much higher chance of a total a$$ whooping. You guys have a veteran O-line, I would come out running and play some smash mouth.....who cares if the score is 6-3 like ours was last year as long as ya get the win. I guess it depends on if you think your D can hold them in check.....if not you will have to throw early and often. Good Luck. What channel is that on again......I may have to record it. Later.

DL is UW's biggest strength. I don't think we're gonna have a ton of luck running the ball against them. They have a starting CB out, and have new guys starting at 2 LB spots, and one S spot. If we're going to beat them, it's going to be through the air with an up-temp offense like we used against Delaware in the second half of the championship game.
The "new" guy at safety got a lot of playing time last year and was their top recruit his year. The Huskies are solid at DL and DB. LB is the greenest, but they return a three year starting team captain at one of the LB spots. On offense they are solid too. That freshman from Gig Harbor at TE is the real deal. The WR corps is loaded, as was the RB spot before a couple of injuries hit. OL is the best they have had since Neuheisel. It will take an impressive game to beat them. Need to force turnovers and make big special teams plays.

Montana comes in and throws 3 TD's in a mop-up role.
Every time I read one of your posts all I think is "sour grapes".
Sour grapes about what, I was very happy EWU won the National Title last season. I was very happy about the way NDSU played against EWU, it was a great game.
It's all these aholes that live to bash the Bison is what I don't like.

Hey, I know it ain't me. Your comrades embarrass your school on this board and every other board they infect. NDSU posters are pariahs.
And the people that repond to them are at the same level
Not even close. But I will concede the ndsu bunch is extremely amusing and entertaining. Bison fans' skin makes bible pages seem like construction paper.

NDSU is a very impressive program with great fan support. That quarterfinal was perhaps the most entertaining game I've ever watched in person, and the Bison at that time were as tough as any team we faced all season.
You have message board sour grapes Gil. Lighten up.

I have no problem losing that game or any other game. This has nothing to do with any game. I miss Black Falkin, he had a good show and sense of humor, he was my favorite EWU fan. What set me off was a serious conversation about the NDSU - Minnesota had a EWU fan jump in and start talking smack. Isn't it wonderful to have the same thing happen to a serious EWU conversation.

There are a few things in life that set me off. Message board hijacks are not one of them.

If it was the first or tenth or 100th time, okay, but it goes on and on and on.

Honestly name one other fan on here other than JBB or Lakes that is bad? Agreed Lakes and JBB are extreme to say the least, but there really is no other Bison poster that gets ridiculous like those two that I have seen anyway. So instead of saying NDSU posters are pariahs, just say JBB and Lakes are pariahs.

NDSU posters and the fanbase in general have gotten such a bad rep from those two. That's just how it is, they aren't even allowed on bville anymore more for that reason. So they come here and put on their little charade for everyone to see. North Dakotans are very a humble and modest bunch. But when it comes to football, NDSU has a very proud fanbase and A LOT of it appears as arrogance. Most of the older generation fans/posters still live in the 80s and don't realize that the program is far different and in a totally different situation.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very proud of our program's past. But a lot of Bison fans need to focus more on the present.
For the strength of the Herd is the Bison and the strength of the Bison is the HERD
GO BISON!
