I am understandably a App Homer, but throwing a halfback pass while leading 52-6 at the end of the 3rd qtr is not a show of respect.

I also understand that VPI may want to show some things for their opponents to game plan, but they had every opportunity to do that in the 1st half.

So. VT? They suck.

A complete beatdown - we deserved most of it, but Beamer should have taken his foot off the pedal at some point.

Btw, I remember feeling the same way about whatever FCS team (DSU was it?) that played Michigan in 2008 as I did for you guys going to VaTech the year after JMU's win.

Sloppy seconds aren't really a good thing for FCS teams.

I had a great time there tho. Excellence experience. The outcome was probably what 80-90% of FBS/FCS games are expected to be.

(btw....wonder if the letdown of coming home to KBS to play NC A&T will be greater than the letdown of us actually thinking we'd keep it respectable against VaTech )

Perhaps they felt they had to run up the score to garner some attention - seeing as how they don't have a ranked opponent on their schedule all season.

Don't get down on 'em too bad. 2011 was not a good year for FCS vs FBS. In fact, it was a terrible year. Thursday night really set the tone with Nova and UNH getting pummeled by also-ran FBS teams.

The CAA in particular looks like it's way down and wide open. I mean, it's OK for a team like W&M to lose to Virginia, but to get absolutely punked like they did was not what I expected. And my own Hens shouldn't be losing 40-17 to Navy.

Things that didn't suck from Blacksburg.

4) The April 16th memorial and Burress Hall. I actually went by before daybreak when it was illuminated and it's quite the sight.

This is how BCS conference teams should schedule if they want to make it to the BCS title game. I have a VT grad/fan friend and he says they have been completely burned by tough schedules in recent years. ( I take his word for it and I didn't bother to verify this.) There is no point in scheduling tough marquee games for BCS programs...so about that myth about the BCS enhancing the regular season...yeah total bull shit.

Also sucks App State had a rough go of it. I thought they would have kept it close for at least a half. My friend was worried about this game, especially considering their JMU loss. Obviously VT came into this game prepared and didn't overlook App.
