Let's hope for a good game that ODU can keep competitive, but you can take your "know your place" comments and shove them up your blue poultry ass.

The 12:00 start will have a big impact on our travel numbers I think.
The weather last saturday was moderate, non-stop, rain from well before the 2:00 tailgate start until maybe midway through the 1st quater. We had only one game prior to that (out of 15) where we had any rain and it was only a constant mist that started during the first half (not affecting tailgating). I was actually surprised there were as many people at the game as there was. I stood under a 10x10 canopy for 4 hours while tailgating. It was truly miserable. Looked like the student section was only half full. Many ticket holders were in the terrace below the suites the whole game. If I had to guess, I would say there were 12K in attendance of the 20K sold.

I suspect that Hampton game actually had more butts in seats....by all accounts, the GSU game was severely over-reported.

Should be a fun game, I expect UD to pound the ball and I expect ODU to pass effectively. ODU's not sneaking up on anyone, you are a CAA member now, that alone gets the players attention.

And why do you think we can't be any more competitive than West Chester? Are you gonna be "more focused" now? Were they loaded with 5th year seniors? We were competitive with W&M last year and I see no reason why we won't be competitive this year against the blue fowl. We will force your QB to pass. Talk about your O-line all you want but we will key the run. The game will be left in the hands of your QB.

Offensively, we will have your heads spinning while coming at you from every angle with good speed. And don't think special teams won't play a big role in this game. If we have to punt, we will turn it into a positive in the field position game. Watch out for the onside kick. We haven't used it yet this year. We haven't gone more than 3 games without trying it (by the way, we are a perfect 7 for 7 I think, including against W&M) dating back to game 1.

Maybe I was too harsh on the boy, but it was a Monday morning, Eagles lost, kinda going through the motions until I read that response. Now I'm awake.

Looking forward to Saturday now.

Most important stat: UD is 9-1 in previous Scrapplefests.

will be in the Gold Lot shortly after 9 - grill fired up, Scrapple sizzling.

My advice for next time: Step back, take a deep breath, think, think hard, take another deep breath, type in your thoughts, walk away from the computer, come back & take a deep breath, make necessary edits and hit submit.

ODU won't force UD to do shit. Listen boys, when you come to Newark bear the proper respect. And again, now that's two of you, Jay Bilas & Flagship - no excuses next week, take your L like a man. See Andy for that - he's got tons of experience.

So what are you guys saying? That the shear number of Delaware fans will have us trembling? We have played in 16 big crowd games. Yes they were in front of our fans but by many accounts on this board, your fans don't bite or bark. The only thing that will be different is that we will not hear the roar each time we score. It will just be silence and the sound of upset scrapple filled stomachs.

Ok, I've been lurking this topic and it seems that people here are just getting too extravagant with this game. So I'm here to help bring us down to Earth.

ODU wins by 1042 points. ODU gets the first points by making a 110 yard field goal, and continues on to make at least 10 touchdowns in the same quarter. 5:14 before halftime three of Delawares Defensive Lineman's legs simultaneously snap from the sheer energy and pressure of the ODU defense. Demarco passes for 120% and Angus Harper can not be stopped. In the middle of the fourth quarter, Delaware is on their 3rd string of players and 15 spectators are injured due to ODU's literally explosive offense. ODU wins the game and looks towards an amazing first CAA season.

Or, if that doesn't happen, ODU plays competitive game, but Delaware wins in the 4th by a touchdown and maybe a field goal.

Why do you think you'll have an advantage in team speed? Who do you compare your speed to? How can you measure it vs some of the teams you played the past couple of years. You had W&M at home last year, and ALMOST won, which has nothing to do with playing on the road in 2011. Don't you think everyone keys in on our run game? Every team we played said they would stop the run and make us pass. Well Pierce has a 120 yds per game and 6 TDs so far. I'm anxious to see the physicality of our OL vs your DL. In the CAA every loss is "we almost won"...games are so competitive. UD lost two CAA games last year...1 pt @ W&M w/ a missed FG on the last play and in OT to Nova. We don't give out points for near losses. ODU will be a great great program, not denying that. But some of you think that because you've racked up some wins vs the dumpster fires of the FCS that helps Saturday. UD has plenty of unknown, should be a fun game.

13 points huh?

All I hear are the screeches of a dying program in Delaware. Their fanbase aging and shrinking...along with their decrepid stadium. The National Championship appearance was a swan song, a failed attempt to reclaim something special back when they were in their prime. It'll be their last. The times are changing Delaware and there's no place anymore for the old guards who can't keep up with this ever-changing landscape. Our program is young, our fanbase energized, our facilities top-notch. I respect your history, but it's exactly what it is...history. When you lose Saturday, don't be demoralized. Take it as a symbolic changing of the guards; you've done your duty, but it's our time now.

When we were in our prime? Three National title games since 2003, two since 2007...one last year, not exactly ancient history. While you were beating Virginia School for the Blind and the Campbells of the world Delaware was competing for a title...again. If ODU wins on Saturday it will be because they played better...on Saturday, not because the youthfulness of your program or top notch facilities.

That screech you hear is actually the sound of the football slipping out of tiny Tom DeMarco's sweaty little boy hands, because he's nervous about his first real football game.

How many more score predictions do you have. That's the 2nd one in 2 posts. Is the next one 34-14, or maybe 37-10, possibly 40-7? Heck ODU might just pitch a shutout. Yet their 42 points given up vs a MEAC team says otherwise.

I'm glad ODU is in the CAA. They are filling in nicely for JMU posters. Friendly banter with JMU posters will have to wait until 2012

ODU fans: keep in mind, you've never won a CAA game. Boy I heard you guys were cocky, but I didn't know you were small in smarts too. If you think ODU will have a speed advantage on Saturday, just keep thinking that. Any of you clowns coming to Newark?

I'll give ODU one point - there is a decent percentage of UD's fanbase that is aging, no doubt. Decrepit stadium? Pot calling kettle black. Yea, I've been to ODU's stadium. Nice end zone setup with the suites & garage. But you'll see an upgrade on Saturday in regards to the sides of the stadium (where most of the people actually sit) in comparison to Foreman Field.

A MEAC team throws up 42 on you? :flag: Throwing the flag for embarassing the CAA. If you're gonna be a part of this league that can't happen boys.

PS - Check out my avatar, you'll be seeing a lot of AP's back on Saturday.

Only old people consider handrails an upgrade.

And not only do we have better speed, we have a better offense, defense, special teams, players, coaches, fans, local support, atmosphere, tailgate scene, training facility, mascot, logo, jerseys, helmets, and everything else. The only people in for a surprise are chicken fans. MEAC Hampton would've put 63 on you.
