Re: TSN Poll 9-19
Surprised W&M got one 1st-place vote, considering their past two results, very surprised Delaware got only one 1st place vote, thought Wofford would be a tad higher.
1-AA is tops!!

Re: TSN Poll 9-19
So FBS move ups, such as UMASS, TxSt., So Ala. and UTSA eligible for this poll? UMass at #17 would be questionable if these FBS move ups are not.
Great turn out and selections.

they include other teams in the poll that aren't eligible (and/or don't participate) in the playoffs

Maybe a win vs UNC will help propel Weber into the top 25 next week, but I doubt it.

it will take a win over unc and then on the red inferno to get ranked. but even then a big win in cheney would be brushed aside if ewu is 0-5. and how lame will that be to play ewu this yr and have them not even ranked. that will suck. i wanted to play a #1 this yr. well there is always MSU

Hey who knows, maybe if we beat UNC in dominating fashion we may just spring to #25
still, I cant believe Sac is receiving that many more votes than Weber

EWU will beat MSU this weekend, ending any hope of MSU being #1 at any point this season.weberwildcat wrote:i wanna play a #1, dont care who. we never win in missoula so playing #1 would be even better. msu could be #1 to at some point.AZGrizFan wrote:

While they are in transition, apparently they are using more scholarships than are allowed by other FCS schools. Based on that fact, they should not be eligible for the poll.JayJ79 wrote:they're not FBS yet, so why not.rabidrabbit wrote:So FBS move ups, such as UMASS, TxSt., So Ala. and UTSA eligible for this poll? Not that I put a whole lot into early season polls but anybody care to explain how Cal Poly can be ranked behind South Dakota State?

Re: TSN Poll 9-19
rankings done mean squat!!!!!!
come december there will only be 3 teams benig discussed....THE DAKOTA BIG 3!!!!!!!!!!
the semifinals will be
south dakota vs weber state
and
north dakota state vs south dakota state
north dakota can only hope to be included is such a distiguished group one day. but due to a pat riley copyright, the name can never be changed to the dakota big 4.

Re: TSN Poll 9-19
We are eligible for the polls but I doubt anyone would vote for those teams anyway. Oh wait, UMass got votes. Just because you got extra guys getting full scholarships doesn't mean shit. All TXST has is more total roster players this year, not necessarily better. In fact, IMHO, right now our team is worse than last year.SumItUp wrote:While they are in transition, apparently they are using more scholarships than are allowed by other FCS schools. Being eligible for a poll does not equate to being eligible for the playoffs, which we are not. The BCS ranks 25 teams but how many are actually going to get a BCS Bowl berth? (not quite the same but it gets the idea across)
Then again
1. TXST hasn't dolled out the 74 schollies it is allowed because Fran hasn't deemed 74 as worthy
2. Has UMass gone to transition yet? Upped the # of scholarships to 74?
3. UTSA hasn't used their full allotment yet and they are a first year team of frosh and sophs
4. Where does S Alabama sit with schollies and what year of transition? Anyone know?
Anyway, long way around to say, if you feel like voting for any of those teams, it is allowed. Just not eligible for championships and post season
Re: TSN Poll 9-19
Losing to Utah St. is not so bad; losing 54-17 and being tripled in yardage is pretty ugly. Must have surprised you recalling your posts. However, who could not be convinced, after last week, that Weber is better than SacSt?
