perhaps a few remaining unknowns about Montana.

Look, I'm not the biggest griz fan in the world, but I happen to live in missoula so I've been privy to their last two home games at the stadium. Let me tell you what those unknowns are.......nothing. They've got some deficiencies in the defensive secondary, an issue with not utilizing their true deep threat in Moutra, and another issue with not playing probably one of their best athletes in Kemp enough. Incidentally, he happens to be the backup to a young, incredibly gifted Jordan Johnson, but the kid is an all out athlete and once they figure out how to work him into the lineup more often, that offense has so many threats that it kills me to admit that they'll be rolling everyone. Everyone. I love the idea of Sac State, but unless the griz somehow haven't realized how much power they really have then the hornets are screwed.

As much as it pains me to say this, looking at UM's remaining schedule they may be favored in all of them, with the lone exception being the game in Bozeman. They got EWU at home, and their remaining conference schedule is very favorable for them; @ Sac St (not a gimme but Sac St is playing horrible), UNC (easy win), @ ISU (should be a win), PSU (should be a win), @ NAU (should be a win), WSU (Weber doesn't win in Missoula :( ), and @ MSU (too early to predict, check back later). It's not inconceivable to me that UM finishes the year with only one or two conference losses.

Believe me, I hope this is the year, but 12 straight losses over 24 years doesn't lie.

Very well said. The Griz have a ton of weapons. I hope, and look for, slow steady improvement in each facet of the game and the season moves on one game at a time. JJ is young and a work in progress. He is going to be the "guy" and there is a huge upside to him as he gains experience and confidence.

Kemp has shown he can play and deserves to be on the field, lets find a way soon. He is too good to be watching on the sidelines

It seems to me that its a curse of kemp being such an all around athlete but has to play backup qb. So any coach worth their salt is gonna want to keep him not injured. But his prowess has gotta be compelling enough to where why not play the guy at slot receiver? He's incredible on his feet. Especially considering you guys are trying to run that hurry up spread option offense. Gotta use the guy, just don't do it against the wildcats:(

Anything I would create would look extremely juvenile compared to bigsky.com and each team's website.

Maybe someday, though.

You could do a free blog. I did that for the whole conference a few years back, it was brutal. But if it was just a weekly rankings thing, which you do anyway, you could do that.

It is mainly a time issue and any compensation is the bottom of the barrel. If I were to put these out in a blog, I would want to do it the right way, with more facts and descriptions about why the teams are where they are, and that all takes more time. Right now, I put the rankings together as I'm placing my national rankings, then I just write them up. You will note that I rarely single out individual performances when I do the writeups. If I did some type of blog, I'd want to highlight those performances I believe turned the rankings one way or another. That all takes time and the wife is already upset that I spend more time on these than with her.

I enjoy the discussion they generate, both the good and the bad and that is where I get my main satisfaction on them.

The Oregonian/Oregon Live is always looking for blogs and bloggers of sports outside the Pac-12 and I have talked with them, but it is not really something I want to do at this point. Something that is fun to do as a hobby does not mean it will be fun to do as a job.

To the Griz: A few homer calls is one thing, but keep it clean. Hopefully Hauck took his hit man mentality to Las Vegas. :coffee:

Weber has two HUGE things going against it in the UM game:

1) the game is in Missoula, a place where Weber has struggled, as you pointed out
2) It's Montana's NINTH game of the year...that gives them five more games to work out the kinks and wrinkles against (lets face it) lesser competition prior to closing with Weber/D-II/MSU.

Yup, and yup... but all records are meant to be broken.

Besides, I would have to admit to being a pu$$y if I failed to tell you that this is the year we win in Missoula. It is the year! We will win! And I refuse to admit anything!
