Re: Old Dominion at Delaware
Look for Mother Nature to play a role tomorrow. The forecast right now is for the game to be played in a steady rain. They're calling for between a half an inch to an inch of rain tomorrow & it's supposed to be heavy rain throughout today & tonight as well. Will probably adjust my original 41-21 prediction down. Will make the running games more important IMO.

Wow, you should charge money for such keen football insight as this. Any other obvious points, Socrates?bluehenbillk wrote:Look for Mother Nature to play a role tomorrow. 5 Dimes finally came out with its FCS lines this morning, UD is listed as a 23.5pt favorite, O/U is 48.

Re: Old Dominion at Delaware
If the weather's bad, I expect Delaware to actually end up winning in a blowout. Maybe 28 or 35 points for UD, and 7 -10 for ODU. ODU can't hang onto the football when the weather's nice, so if it's going to rain heavy tomorrow you can count on them to put the ball on the ground maybe 3 or 4 times and give us a short field at least twice as a result.

Re: Old Dominion at Delaware
I suggest we postpone the game and wait for dry weather and comfortable temperatures. This is not fair to Old Dominion to have to play on the road and in conditions that favor the home team. The CAA needs to step in here and do something. We are entitled to play on a "level playing ground". If this game is played under poor conditions, Delaware should help pay for the travel expenses that Old Dominion will incur. Maybe even sacrifice a few future scholarships.

And while we're on the topic, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Mother Nature is actually a season ticket holder for UD football. She's been super impressed with the new handrails in the stadium, and given the hip replacement she had last off season she's never been happier. She even picked up a few of the discounted over 55 tickets that were available, and is looking forward to getting one of the complimentary breakfast items in her belly before she heads in to the game. Weather proof head bonnet and all.

You realize it was pouring last Saturday...and we scored 45 points...without throwing a single touchdown. I also hope you realize that of the 127 points we've scored in 3 games so far, only 18 have come from through the air. We've stuck to the ground every game this season which is a faaaaaar departure from the last two years. And I like it, gives us a way more balanced offense.State Line Liquors wrote:If the weather's bad, I expect Delaware to actually end up winning in a blowout. You do realize the inferior competition you have played also kept you on the ground. What cha going to do when you are down by 21 in the first quarter? Kill the clock with the run? That lead is only going to increase. You got to pass to catch up.∞∞∞ wrote:You realize it was pouring last Saturday...and we scored 45 points...without throwing a single touchdown. I like our O-line over you D-Line. I like your O-line over our D-Line. Even W&M was surprised by our o-line last season and gave up 130 yards of rushing to a primarily throwing team. This team is not only a year wiser, but they're also bigger and faster...I'm not worried about our offense regardless of weather.bluehenbillk wrote:There are thousands of UD fans hoping you stick to that strategy tomorrow.∞∞∞ wrote: You realize it was pouring last Saturday...and we scored 45 points...without throwing a single touchdown. I am worried about our defense though, but I'm worried about them every game.

Did anybody catch that game last night where they played Bethune? First of all, 12 penalties for 107!! Jeesh, did they even practice this past week or were they still licking their wounds from the ODU game?
HU might have had one of the sloppiest sets of downs I've ever seen with about 20 seconds to go, and cracks at the endzone.

5 more hours until I release my official prediction. The computer is processing the data as we speak after making adjustments for the weather. Question: Will the wind be blowing across the field from sideline to sideline or end zone to endzone? Not sure of your stadium's sexual orientation.

Delaware Stadium has no sexual orientation or for that matter, libido. She's a senior citizen. The only way to get her fired up is to let your dog pee on her lawn.
Re: Old Dominion at Delaware
Considering HU was playing in Florida after only 4 days rest from a shootout, and BCU was playing at home after 11 days to prepare...and HU almost won (last second TD overturned)...I think HU did pretty well for themselves.State Line Liquors wrote:Ok. Re: Old Dominion at Delaware
Just checked the map and it looks like your stadium has a north-south orientation similar to Foreman Field. You are lucky because I would have included that in by official protest to the CAA if it had an east-west orientation. That's OK though. I will have plenty of material to use in my protest.CAA Flagship wrote:5 more hours until I release my official prediction. Is it true that you don't allow tailgating in the grass field near the stadium when it rains?

huh? Tailgating is allowed whenever a football game is being held. Hopefully ODU can hold up their end of the bargain and make this game something more than a scrimmage for UD so that there is no confusion regarding tailgating.CAA Flagship wrote:Is it true that you don't allow tailgating in the grass field near the stadium when it rains?
