What can you tell me about Pete Mackanin?
ESPNBoston is reporting he is going to be interviewed for the Manager opening.

Didn't he recently manage the Frederick Keys in the Carolina League? That's a Ballmer farm team. Heard good things about him.

Not much to tell. He's Charlie's bench coach, the Phils announcers always talk about what a tight bond he & Manuel have and he knows his baseball. However, whenever you hear about a successor for Charlie the only name from the Phillies system that comes up is Ryne Sandberg, who's managing AAA Lehigh Valley.

Sandberg is also a name popping up around Boston media... though some are skeptical because they interviewed him for their AAA job and appeared reluctant to hire him, and before they made a final decision the Phillies hired him.bluehenbillk wrote:Not much to tell.
