RIP Leslie Nielsen....and the Yankmees... 8-) 8-)
Everyone acts like the Yankees are done.
The Tigers pitch Porcello tonight. The Yanks can beat him, even with Burnett on the mound.

And this series looks much different if its 2-2, going back to NY, for a decisive Game #5, Nova v. Fister.
Can we act like the Yankees are done now? 8-) 8-)

If I add up the Packers, Lakers, Black Hawks and Tigers, that's over 30 rings. :kisswink:

Verlander won't be available from the pen.

Well, my favorite teams are the Yankees, Packers, Celtics and Canadiens, so there. :D

I should note that my second favorite baseball team is the Phillies, so their over 10,000 losses wipes away all of this.

Let's have a discussion: who was better: the '36-'39 teams or the '96-'99 teams? I don't know if the modern teams could match-up with a #2 starter like Red Ruffing, do you?

I understand. D-Backs pose a MUCH bigger threat to the Phils in the NLCS than do the Brewers....   Believe me, I'm rooting for the Cards tonight just as you're rooting for the Brewers for the exact same reasons... 8-)

Nah. Milwaukee is just a lot more likable than Phoenix (and I'm sure you'd say the same about St. Louis vs Philly). 8-)

BTW, for some reason I never really think of towns in all sports. Like my separation of Bruins from Boston's other fans and I never think of Cards fans as Blues fans, etc... I was on ESPN the other day on the Dbacks page and they always have links to the other town's teams... DBacks, Cardinals, Suns and Coyotes. I shuddered at the thought of being in your shoes. :?

Classic Phillies violation. Trying to minimize the history of the game -- just because your team has no history of success.

Trust me. All those titles the Phillies didn't win before you were born definitely count.

:flag: Cmon Joe. Hey, I may have to apologize - I don't know how old you are, you may be on your 70's or 80's and I'd apologize & say you have a valid point. But the fact is, if you're my age, you don't have a friggin clue about the history of those teams - you can really connect I'm sure with the Yankees championships of the 1920's & 1930's - when they actually won what 40% of their titles? I can appreciate hostory - but that's what it is & all it is - history. This is 2011 now in case you misplaced your calendar. I don't brag about Delaware winning titles in 1946 or 1963, I have no right too.

By the way, how good would Cliff Lee looked as your #1 or #2?
