Missouri State and SDSU seem to have that wrapped up, or at least until the Bears jump to C-USA or the SEC

Nope you didn't scare me off thats for sure....and to clarify, I was drunk last night when I posted this lol but I do believe the Sycamores will win this weekend still. We won't win the national championship by any means but hopefully a Walter Payton award! And as for the posts about ISU going downhill form here, you are crazy. We are finally set up for success for several years to come. GO TREES!
Once again, I didn't say they were going to go downhill. I said you wouldn't be back after they lose on Saturday.

I know you are big on Bell, but I wouldn't get too excited yet. UNI, NDSU, etc are better defenses than Butler and WKU.

Butler has nothing todo with it. But let's cherry pick and forget he had 200 yard games against sdsu and ysu.

Shakir Bell averages 153 yards per game.

YSU- 85th in rushing defense
SDSU- 105th
Butler- surprisingly..45th
WKU is 94th in FBS

UNI is 36
NDSU is 18
IlSU is 5
SIU 48

Last year against UNI: 26 yards
Last year against NDSU: 8 yards
Last year he had 3 games of 130+, but 7 games of 50 or less, 5 of those 26 yards or less.

I'm just saying I wouldn't crown him yet. As a former player you have to know the difference between the schedule you've played thus far and the schedule ahead of you.

Numbers do lie as bell wasn't the featured back as a freshman, and also those rushing rankings have alot to do with bell running the ball well on those people. Five games in all of those teams have had to face the Indiana state rushing attack by the end of the year those numbers even out. That's my point. That make sense? Not trying to crown him either but anytime any player at any level rushes for 256 yards on one game is probably a pretty obvious budding star.

I guess my responses are based on the fact that we get this every year with a team who tears up OOC and has a weak schedule to start MVFC play. So I could be completely wrong, but at least I'm trying to go with facts.

Either of you guys coming on Saturday?

We very rarely use any trickeration, and I'm sure we didn't on the Sycs if we were up big. If I wasn't on my iPad I would pull box scores. Someone do that. Maybe I'm wrong, but I highly doubt it. You may have lost big, but the score was not "runup".
I have been at every sycamore/UNI game since 2006 (I played at Indiana State). I am not going to get into the "ethics" of the situation I am just saying that the technical "calling off of the dogs" wasn't done, not bitching or moaning about it because I really can't come up with an example off the top of my head. To be honest I am sorry someone came on here and started rolling off with the smack BUT to say Indiana State is going to disappear after one game is just as Idiotic.

Are you kidding me Greenwell??

You never played at ISU, you were on the team for a year. You are a great fan and very committed to the Sycamores but please dont take credit for being a player. I was on the team through the worst years and it is truly a slap in the face when you take credit for the struggles and hard times that those of us that stuck it out those years went through. You have no clue what it felt like to get your a** kicked week in and week out for four straight years.

You cant recall specific examples of them running the score up or trick plays because they were never ran against you. In fact, they were never ran against anyone on ISU team since Farley has been there. UNI is one of the most respected and respectful programs in the conference and probably the country. Those blow outs in the UNIdome were soley based on UNI being UNI. They played hard, physical, and disciplined until the end of the game. And yes those were 2nd and 3rd stringers that were running POWER, not trick plays or even reverses, 85% of the game and probably 90% of the 2nd half. They had mercy on us when other teams did not. It is not the backups fault that they want to play hard with the very little opportunities they get to play. The coaches called plays that my middle school team ran, but the players executed perfectly and as hard as they could and thats how they scored in the 2nd half. I remember seeing their starters on sideline in 3rd quarter with their pads off. That is considered "calling off the dogs"

Continue to support the guys that are now achieving success that myself and others who took all those losses for the program and hosted all these guys on their visits to help build a successful program, but please stop taking credit where it is not due.

UNI love you guys and respect you 100% and I always have even when we were in the lockerroom at halftime down 42-0. I rooted for UNI every week when I played except when we played them, and I still do but will not be this Saturday. Hope for a great game and the best team wins a fair injury free ball game.

Its pretty lame to complain about UNI running up the score on those ISU teams. It absolutely was not the case.
If there's one thing to bitch about as a UNI fan...it's Farley not finishing teams when he has the chance too...see Richmond 08, Iowa State 11, Illinois State 09, Iowa 09 (yep, I'm putting that on here)...I don't want to keep going but I could.

Fact is had UNI really wanted to the scores could have easily been 90/100-7 in a couple of those games. However, UNI has more class than Stephan F Austin and won't do that to a team. However, that same mentality carries over to 10 point games in the 4th quarter.

Is it possible to cheer for both teams in this one? I love your guys' story coming "From the gutter", but I want UNI to win out until October 29th. I want that match up between possible top 3/4 teams (assuming NDSU wins out as well).

Predictions, for the record: Bell will not hit 150 yards on the ground unless UNI scores at will and he has a lot of opportunities. Bell WILL NOT win the Peyton.

Shakir Bell getting knocked out of the game, was the turning point of the game for ISU. They could never get the running game going in the 2nd half.

Will any Syc fan address the point that they only had 3 points up until right before halftime, even though Bell had run for 145 yards? It was a bad break, but not necessarily the only reason you lost.

So bell runs for 145 and the sycs put up 158 for the game, at least from what the pizza deal was announced to be. Bell is ISUs only offense. Without him they had no run threat and Fouched looked very lost passing the ball. Two picks plus a pick 6 called back on a very bad defensive holding call and 4 that were tipped and nearly picked. I know UNI has a real good d but still. Had UNIs offense not lpoked the worst it had all year it could have been a 30-3 type game....ISUs only TD came after a fumble on the 11 yard line.....speaking of ISU your kicker sucks something fierce. Once I'm not on an iPod I'll do more thoughts

someone once again gave PR the wrong stat to read for the pizza deal.
ISU had 158 yards of RUSHING in the game (Bell 145, Cheeseborough 30, Lough 14, Fouch -31)
but they also had 136 yards of passing, for a total of 294 offensive yards.
