At the beginning of the season, if you had told me that ODU-Towson was the unquestionable Week 7 game of the week I would've literally punched you in the mouth for stupidity....who knew?

Yup. The battle for 5th place is an interesting one.

Portland State has to win out to have a chance for the playoffs, mostly due to crappy scheduling by their AD and lining up 2 division II teams. The Vikings are a dangerous team, playing a pistol offense with a standout QB and RB. They are also undisciplined and likely to run up 150 yards in penalties, mostly in pass interference and personal fouls. Montana already lost to Sacramento State and a loss to PSU would put them into a situation where they would probably have to win out to get into the playoffs. Missing the playoffs 2 years in a row would put Pflugrass under the microscope.

This is my game of the week. PSU 31 UM 27
I'll wear an MSU shirt on Griz/Cat gameday if PSU wins in Missoula.

I voted for Liberty/CCU because of the potential playoff implications.
Towson and ODU will still have plenty of chances to prove themselves (or tank), but with the exception of their games against Stony Brook -- I don't see either CCU or Liberty coming real close to losing another game this season.

Portland State is 1-6 in their last 7 road games. That one win was a last minute victory over.....wait for it......
Idaho State two weeks ago....a game which ISU led with under 2:00 to go in the game. ISU put up 35 on PSU....
PSU's wins are against Southern Oregon, a bad NAU team, and ISU. I think the Griz should do just fine in the comfy confines of Wa/Griz. Add another 75 yards of procedure and false start penalties to the 150 yards in PI and personal foul penalties they NORMALLY get.
Griz 38
PSU 17

While I don't think it is the game of the week by any stretch, the "Battle of the Bay" (the original) between Hampton and Norfolk State will go a long way towards determining who wins the MEAC. Their bands also put on quite the show so I am told.
Just thought that game at least deserved mentioning in light of NSU's recent performance and entrance into the top 25.

The show that NEVER ENDS.
Should be a good game. I give the home field edge to the Spartans.
Don't know why I'm just now realizing it, but ODU got a really favorable schedule this year, no UNH or Maine, and they had the easiest OOC schedule in the league.
Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them win out with that schedule.
