Can't say I'm surprised, kid was a Grade A douche in high school. Him and Robert Marve really shine a good light on Tampa QBs.
Stephen Garcia won’t get a sixth chance to play quarterback for No. 15 South Carolina.
Garcia, who had been suspended and brought back to the team five previous times, was dismissed Tuesday for failing an alcohol test, a person familiar with the decision said. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because South Carolina had not announced specifically why Garcia had been kicked off the team.

I'ma USC Fan and this is great. OUr offense finally showed up on Saturday. Ellington is going to be a playmaker. I used to watch him when he played for Berkeley HS. THis is a good thing for USC and Shaw.
All of you are correct, but I still question the timing. Sure, the kid screwed up and had to be punished. But why did the kid screw up NOW? He had to know after signing that contract that he'd be forcing Spurrier's hand. They have NOBODY with experience behind Shaw. If he goes down, they're freaking SCREWED.
Spurrier did the right thing, but EGAD!!!
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

He screwed up because he decided to get drunk and high after Spurrier benched him. Like others said if Shaw didn't play well, he'd still be there.
I have a friend who goes to USC (great source right?) and he said word was on campus that he lost his starting position, lost custody of his kid, and decided to have a few and maybe some other activity as well. Word got out, coaches heard, tested him, and he was off the team.
