We didn't go to sleep, we were still playing hard at the end. Griz D adjusted at the half, it seemed like they put a shadow on McCaffrey and still were able to keep track of Kavanaugh. Griz D is really good, but we were still playing and had a shot to win at the end.weberwildcat wrote:psu went to sleep in the 2nd half. i was surprised after the first half. i hope your running back will be ok. that was a shame when he went down.

Yup. PSU fully had a chance to win it. The pick saved Montana.JALMOND wrote:We didn't go to sleep, we were still playing hard at the end. about 1:46 for the injury.JALMOND wrote:PSU saying McCaffrey was clipped badly on the INT and is out of the game. UM was flagged for block in the back but UM TV will not show it.

Considering how awful we were for the first quarter-and-a-half, I'm actually pretty happy with a six point win. Need to start putting together for solid quarters, though.

Thanks for the look. PSU announcers were saying he was hit after the INT but it looks like he planted his leg and either the knee gave out or he turned his ankle badly. Didn't look like he was even touched. There was a block in the back on the play but that wasn't it.ThrashedKid wrote:about 1:46 for the injury.JALMOND wrote:PSU saying McCaffrey was clipped badly on the INT and is out of the game. My apologies for thinking that was it.

There didn't appear to be anyone near him. Roots was the guy covering McCaffrey & he moved over to make the pick.JALMOND wrote:Thanks for the look. This game played much the same as the Cal Poly game for the Griz. UM struggled in the first half, but dominated the second. The offense didn't light it up as much in the second half, but the defense played better than they did against CP.
I was quite pleased to see that Montana outrushed PSU. The Viking D keyed heavily on Dan Moore inside, but had no answer for Canada & Nguyen on the edge.

Your receivers did a great job of sealing the outside for Canada to run. Great blocking on our corners.Mvemjsunpx wrote:This game played much the same as the Cal Poly game for the Griz. Can any PSU fans explain why your QB was the only player on the team with the solid green stripe down the middle of his helmet?

I didn't realize that. Good pic. I'll see what I can find out, although the PSU media officials are working on an update on McCaffrey. I may not be able to get an explanation for awhile.Willie wrote:Can any PSU fans explain why your QB was the only player on the team with the solid green stripe down the middle of his helmet?
Isn't that supposed to be a penalty, when you have a different type or style of uniform than the rest of your teammates?

Penalties?? PSU was assessed 88 yards, Montana 83. Not much difference.

I also thought I said year. Called in Bill Fette for a review. He confirmed it.Grizalltheway wrote:He said YEAR, didn't he? What are the numbers for the rest of their games?frinq wrote:Penalties?? PSU was assessed 88 yards, Montana 83. Not much difference.

I will say that, based on the fact that the penalty yardage was a push in our last game, and the fact that Montana had more personal fouls than we did (4-1) that it must have been a point of emphasis last week, as Burton made clear in his interviews. We can't go back and fix what happened, we can only go forward.
If you and your cohorts from all edges of the great state of Montana, Bobcats and Grizzlies alike, want to continue making a big deal of nothing, so be it. I am done with it.

PSU had lost their best running back....and had less than 100 yards of offense in the 2nd half when they got the ball back the final time. I felt pretty confident they weren't going to score at that point....Vidav wrote:Yup. PSU fully had a chance to win it. The pick saved Montana.JALMOND wrote:

It should have been 3-2, though. On Roots's first interception (the same play where McCaffrey got hurt), he got shoved by a PSU player after he went out of bounds but the refs called the penalty on Montana.JALMOND wrote:I will say that, based on the fact that the penalty yardage was a push in our last game, and the fact that Montana had more personal fouls than we did (4-1) that it must have been a point of emphasis last week, as Burton made clear in his interviews.
