4 million for new turf? The cost to put in the red Sprinturf at Eastern was 1 million in the summer of 2010. What kinda turf is UND putting in that it costs four times as much?Darell1976 wrote:http://www.wdaz.com/event/article/id/10576/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;cats2506 wrote:

Haven't heard anything since this news story Sept. 20th.GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - UND and the Alerus Center are working fast to get new turf in place before the 2012 football season.
The big question left to discuss is how to pay for this new turf, and how that payment will be split. That needs to be decided within the next month, so the plan can move forward in time for the next football season.
The turf at the Alerus Center has reached its 10th birthday. That means it's time for a replacement.
"Currently we have more of a smaller nap turf. Longer fiber is what the new design is, so we're looking at that," Alerus Center Director of Operations Jeremy Linstad said.
Both the Alerus Center and UND are making this a high priority. But just how to split up the $4 million cost has not been decided.

Re: Montana State 9-0 vs FCS?
The Alerus Center has lost money basically since it opened in 2001 with UND football the only money maker (although transition is hurting that big time). So maybe its 1 mil for the turf and 3 million to keep the dome running.EWURanger wrote:4 million for new turf? The cost to put in the red Sprinturf at Eastern was 1 million in the summer of 2010. NDSU is 0-2 in the Alerus so us Minot State NAIA team can beat a DII powerhouse in NDSU.lakesbison wrote:Cat2506 they will be as tough as minot state. Their 6400 fans wont bother ya either

I think he probably averaged about 1 fumble for every 75 yards though tooMvemjsunpx wrote:What are you talking about? MSU ran for 175 ypg last year and ran it 53% of the time. The bobcats were very pass orientated and the bad weather benefited the bison, by taking away some of the pass game.

Montana State 9-0 vs FCS?
MSU relied on the pass way more last year when it was crunch time. Frozen fingers are not great for a passing game. Oh well, last year was last year, I like our chances this year.
