The Cardinals have no chance of winning the World Series. They were swept by Philadelphia more than a week ago.

Rangers in 7, because both teams' pitching are still quite question marks. Offense, no problem for both.
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

I'm guessing Rangers in 7 as well. The teams match up well, but the Rangers having lost in the Series last year may give them a slight edge.

You should be thanking the Phils. Without them you don't even make the playoffs.CitadelGrad wrote:The Cardinals have no chance of winning the World Series. They were swept by Philadelphia more than a week ago.

Why would I thank them for merely doing their damn job?89Hen wrote:You should be thanking the Phils. Without them you don't even make the playoffs.CitadelGrad wrote:The Cardinals have no chance of winning the World Series. They were swept by Philadelphia more than a week ago.

Come on man, have some fun with it. You know, "the Four Aces got trumped by a Wild Card", "Fi, Oh, Oh", things like that.

Their job is to get ready for the playoffs. They could have played back ups, like the Yankees did, and the Cards wouldn't have gotten in. Charlie Manuel felt obligated to try and beat Atlanta, even though losing to Atlanta was probably the better move.CitadelGrad wrote:Why would I thank them for merely doing their damn job?89Hen wrote: You should be thanking the Phils. ...pretty much sums up what I think of the world series this year. Cards won it back in 2006, Rangers in it for 2nd straight year.

I wouldn't go quite that far, ODU, but to some degree I agree with you. I would VERY much prefer a CIN-OAK series. I realize that I'm about the only one in the country who would want to see that, though.

I don't know, there's just something about the Rangers that I've grown to hate over the last couple years. I think part of it is that their manager used to be a crack addict.SuperHornet wrote:I wouldn't go quite that far, ODU, but to some degree I agree with you. I would VERY much prefer a CIN-OAK series. Kicking a vile habit of that nature is a significant accomplishment.

I'd like to. Surprised you didn't mention 1990. I missed THAT one because I was stuck in boot camp and TVs were banned.Ivytalk wrote:Get yourself a video of the 1972 Series!SuperHornet wrote:I wouldn't go quite that far, ODU, but to some degree I agree with you. They just flipped a coin and then all went to a bar to celebrate. Pretty low key if you ask me.93henfan wrote:So who won Game 1 last night? It was last night, right?
