Hey, I understand some people like basketball. While I find it peculiar, I won't hold it against them.

Try as I might, I have never been able to get into the sport. The year the Sixers went to the Finals last, the very first NBA game I watched that year was Game 1 of the Finals. I haven't watched an NBA game since. It was so boring I should have just watched the last two minutes, as that's the only part of a basketball game that is remotely entertaining to me.

I would be okay with UD having a successful football program...if DSU was ANY GOOD at basketball.

I still remember the Duke game from '05 like it was yesterday. And the fact that we were the best in the MEAC the following two years and lost BOTH MEAC Title Games by a combined 3 points.

As much as you "suck" at basketball, you still beat us last year.

Dunno. While there might not be a "goaltender", I'm guessing a defending player can defend the goal if he wanted.

Hockey I can see, but baseball? Baseball is more boring than basketball, IMO. I really wish they could somehow speed up the game of baseball.

I don't know if they can make rules to do it, but somehow they need to encourage pitchers to pitch the damn ball. There are some fantastic pitchers out there that don't screw around. Stephen Strasburg certainly falls into that category. I'm hoping more young pitchers take note.

Once the American League gets involved, you're screwed. More nut-scratching, spitting, readjusting sweatbands, and phantom hack bullshit routines in that League than should be allowed. Perhaps the ump should have one of those chess timers and a team gets, say, 5 minutes of scratch your nuts time for a whole ballgame. One dude takes 20 seconds, that's 20 seconds less of nut-scratching for the rest of the team that game.

Most regular season Phillies games take less than two and a half hours. Very easy to watch.

The only UD sport that gets my attention is football.

Well I know in College the pitchers have a certain amount of time from when they get the ball until they actually throw it.

I used to go to, I knew a couple of guys on the team back in the early 80's. The attendance did suck. My older son is a junior in high school right now and he's a pretty good wrestler, he will probably wrestle in college, which means that UD isn't an option.

The ironic thing is that one of the best high school wrestling tourney's in the country "The Beast of the East" is on the UD campus. It would be a great opportunity to recruit. Last year the tourney started the same day that the Hens played Georgia Southern in the playoffs. My sons high school wrestles in it, so I got to watch him wrestle and see the Hens play.
