Will the BCS national championship game be a rematch of the LSU-Alabama game?

Oklahoma State still needs to lose, there is also a chance that Boise would sneak in ahead of a 1 loss SEC team.

But LSU and Alabama look to be the two best teams right now, a rematch could happen, especially if the first game is close and Oklahoma State losses.

Not only that, but the winner of LSU-Bama would still have to win the SEC championship game as well.

A lot of things has to fall into place for a rematch to happen.
MEAC, last one out turn off the lights.

I think the NCAA/BCS/whoever is in charge has done a great job at adapting the BCS system to where there aren't as many holes in it as years prior. It's a system based on popular opinion and computer rankings. One of the innovations is that it is extremely hard for a team that doesn't win their conference championship to reach the title game. right now there are 8 undefeated teams.
-Alabama
-LSU
-Stanford
-Oklahoma State
-Kansas State
-Boise State
-Houston
-Clemson

Boise State and Houston will not reach the title game over any of those other teams if any of them are undefeated. Only one of Alabama/LSU and one of KSU/OSU can be undefeated at the end of the season. I don't think Kansas will finish undefeated and I wouldn't be surprised if Oklahoma beat OSU. Don't count the Sooners our of the national title game just yet especially if they beat Kansas State and Oklahoma State. Clemson could very well run the table as well.

I honestly doubt they'll let a rematch. I think the championship game will be SEC champ vs. Oklahoma State/Oklahoma/Stanford. Clemson will slip up at some point, they're an FBS team from SC it's what we do. At this point, I think it's a race between Stanford and Oklahoma state...but Oklahoma state has the toughest road. It's still too early to say anything IMO I don't think we've had this many undefeated teams this late in the season in a while.

One thing working against a 1 loss team from the Big XII is they wont have a conference championship game to boost their BCS rating against a high ranking squad.

There is a very viable road for Boise State to make the BCS title game as the chances of a Big XII team coming out undefeated is not good and Oregon certainly has a decent shot of sending Stanford to the one loss column. Clemson has a date with South Carolina the week before the ACC title game and its always tough to beat a team (Virginia Tech) a second time.

In the end I see LSU vs Boise State in the title game.

Oh please Jesus, let that happen. Would love to see the spin from St. Onge if BSU won.

If we beat Stanford, do we play Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl? Or does Sparty survive?

Not sure I'd want to see the Ducks vs Bucky :?

I think Wisconsin and MSU are in different divisions, so who knows who is coming out of the B1G at this point. Stanford vs Oregon is going to be a great game though, both teams have looked pretty dominant recently.

Oregon had better not overlook WSU though, we've played incredibly well at Autzen in our last few couple of visits (52-6 in 2009, 53-7 in 2007).

BSU is going to get the shaft, no way they make it to the title game. I think they would be competative and could win it but they will get shut out one way or another. I don't like it but I know that is the way it will work. :twocents:

Recent talk out here, DDG, is if the Ducks beat Stanford and run the table, and LSU beats Alabama and wins the SEC championship game, the national championship should be a Ducks and LSU rematch. :thumb:

Of course no one is biased out here.

I agree, Boise will not be in the championship game. If there are 3 unbeatens the other two will get in. If there is another unbeaten and a 1 loss SEC team, those two teams will get in ahead of Boise.

Personally, I think if Boise finishes unbeaten they shouId get in over any 1 loss team, I don't care about strength of schedule. The main argument against a playoff is that it would make the regular season meaningless. Seems to me, taking a 1 loss team over an unbeaten also makes the regular season meaningless. The unbeaten teams regular season is meaningless because they won all their games and got overlooked, the 1 loss teams regular season is meaningless because they still got in even though they lost.

The only fair solution is a playoff, but I'm sure that I'm preaching to the choir.

That may well be true, 86, but after all this time, if THAT happens, I wouldn't be surprised if Boise files for an injunction to stop the game from taking place on antitrust grounds.

That's no guarantee, of course, that it would work. But the threat just might have an effect....

Well, it makes more sense than Orrin Hatch getting an anti-B(C)$ law passed with his "hearings," right?
