Shame the weather's gonna suck for this one. Makes JMU a bigger favorite. Wet with winds around 20 mph will make it tough to exploit the Dukes vulnerability to the pass, and big plays there was the only chance I gave ODU.

Latest weather forecasts vary depending on which forecaster you see. One said the heavy rain will hit late morning/early afternoon. Either way, it will be cold, wet, and windy. Football weather. Dress appropriately.

Hmm ... Norfolk forecast for tomorrow. High of 54, 100% chance of rain, raing 20-25 mph

Forecast for Harrisonburg: high of 37, low of 29, 90% chance of snow, Winter Storm watch expecting 5+" of snow

would be awesome if this game were in Harrisonburg this weekend!

Weather significantly favors JMU ... on the field and in the stands where we may now outnumber fickle ODU fans bailing because of weather.

It's dog food, get it right. :ohno: ;)

What's the Norfolk's weatherman's forecast for the chances of a post game robbery, stabbing or shooting?

The dog food smell is gone from campus IMO...unless you're at the little grill across town next the remaining feed tower...however, if you're at the little grill, the chances that the stench of your own cruncher body oder may mask other smells like dog food. I'm a dirt loving tree worshipper so I can say these things without being politically uncorrect.

JMU bought the co-op next to campus and took out the two smallish feed towers, hence, dof food oder gone from campus not that is bad anyways except during certain conditions... :coffee:

I'll say ODU by a field goal, after making a 4th and 29 with a minute left!

No thanks. I would be very embarassed to win on such a fluke play. I would rather take the loss because we were probably outplayed for 59 minutes prior to that.

20-14 JMU at the half

ODU's front seven have been filling up the holes opened by our OLine and really limiting our ability to run the ball effectively, but are getting bit in the ass on short screen plays by being too aggressive. Only two punts for ODU and none for JMU, but the Monarch defense stopped us twice in the redzone to force FGs and an absolute freak 4th down 40 yd hail mary play by Heinicke is keeping them close.

Mickey laid his head squarely on the chopping block with that 2nd half performance.

How in the hell can there be no stats for this game. Neither school could feed ESPN?

Sorry, meant during the game. When you go to the ESPN site, it updates almost immediately for almost every game. The ODU/JMU stats were about 10 minutes behind the posting on CS.com

Yeah, I know, whiney bitch, but I am lazy.

We may have created a monster when we injured Demarco. Don't do that and maybe we win that game and are out of the CAA before the butterflies turn into mothra.

Yes. ODU shut down the JMU offense in the second half, but injuries played a role in that. Losing Scott and three starting O-linemen hurt. That's football, but I would hate to lose that way too.

Great game though. Crappy weather really put a damper on the atmosphere. The CAA has said that JMU and ODU will meet on the final weekend of the year the next few years. I'm not a fan of this idea. JMU fans won't have an opportunity to see ODU games during pleasant weather, and vice versa. Stupid idea.

Back at the hotel after the game.

In a nutshell:

-Congrats to ODU. Did what they had to do to win. They set themselves up for the playoffs as long as they win one of the next 2, which I think they will.

-JMU's defense played ok. I predicted ODU would score 17. Wasn't too far off. That alleyoop prayer in the 2nd qtr was the difference. ODU receiver, not particularly tall, made a great play. JMU DBs looked like they jumped at the wrong time.

-Predicted JMU would score 35. Scored 20 1st half, and looked like would get at least to 35. JMU offense was moving the ball up & down the field the 1st half, not very good 2nd half- zero points. Simple- lost 3 starting OL, 1 2nd qtr, 2 3rd qtr. Never seen that happen before. Unbelieveable. :ohno: JMU went from having a very good OL 1st half to a bad one by the end of the 3rd qtr. Losing Dae'quan Scott didn't hurt nearly as bad as losing the OL. There was a BIG drop off with the 3 backups in terms of size, ability, and experience. Not an excuse, just a fact. Went from the JMU OL handling the ODU DL to the ODU DL handling the JMU OL.

I haven't been on the CAAZone and haven't heard any word on the extent of the OL injuries. JMU has a returning starting OL from last yr, Scott Jones, who missed all of Spring/Summer, & 1st 6 weeks of the season, but has apparently been practicing the last 3 weeks. He wasn't in uniform today. Between the 3 injured OL and Jones, between those 4 OL, if 2 of them aren't back for these next 3 weeks then JMU is looking at finishing 1-2, with another 6-5 season and can kiss the playoffs goodbye. :ohno: Getting at least 2 of those OL back is more impt that getting Scott or Thorpe back IMHO.
