MSU rushes for 415 yards against ISU

Post by CatBlitz22 »

MSU had over twice as many rushing yards on Saturday than the Bengals have had combined all year (415 vs. 204). Pretty impressive (even though it was ISU).

Kirk: 184 yds, 4 TDs
Robinson: 154 yds, 2 TDs

321 rushing yards at halftime is even more impressive, this offense is so dangerous in so many different ways.

Kavanaugh and McCaffrey both had over 200 yards rushing against ISU earlier in the year. First time ever Portland State had two 200 yard rushers in the same game.

Rush defense is very good, too. Makes for a difficult playoff opponent,

It'll take a while, and they may end up on probation, but they'll get there with their current leadership.

They allowed 29 rushing yards.

Kirk had 166 yards rushing in the first half (1,114 yards for the season so far), Robinson had 152 rushing in the first half. Neither played much in the second half (1 possession I think?) IIRC, the Cats had 321 rushing yards in the first half.

MSU played with a better sense of urgency in their home confines. However, when ISU throws out a defensive line that goes 226, 230, 275, 225, no matter how they scheme their linebackers and DB's(who actually played really well) they were going to get run over.

They still have some big tests coming up against Weber State (who will have their starting QB back) and the Griz who always play us tough.

I like what I am seeing though out of this team.
