ODU wins they are a mortal lock for a bye, but no chance at a seed. Which means ODU would get 2 bye weeks and not play between Nov 12 and Dec 3rd.

ODU loses then they would be 8-3/5-3, with no I-A. That would be comparable to the 7-4/5-3 from the power conferences who'd played a I-A. Which means a loss to W&M would put ODU on the bubble for not getting a bye. Which would likely mean hosting Norfolk State Turkey Day weekend in the Norfolk Championship Game. Interesting though if that were to happen both ODU and Norfolk State have their regular season final game this weekend, so both teams would still have an off week. Also interesting that I see ODU and Norfolk State in 3 seasons haven't played each other. I find that very odd. Would think the 2 schools would be crosstown rivals....

We play Norfolk St. either next year or the year after that and it more than likely will become a yearly rivalry, as I believe it is a multi year deal.

We start playing them in 2013. Get it straight.

Thanks, Razor, that's a great idea! I'm looking forward to winning 2/8/12 as well.

Turnover margin - WM t-6th, ODU 1st
Penalties - WM 1st, ODU 8th

Individual Rankings...

WM's Grimes, 127.3 rushing yards/game - 2nd in CAA, 5th in kick return average (23.3), 1st in all purpose (243.2)
ODU's Heinicke - 4th in passing yards/game (249.5), 1st in efficiency (158.9), 2nd in total offense (283.7)
WM's Mangas - 10th in recieving yards/game (57.5)

Defensive Individual Rankings....

WM LB Mines - tied 6th with 9.7 tackles/game, ODU's Wilkins (LB) - 9th with 8.7
WM DL Hyde - 1st in sacks with 6, ODU's Cameron - 9th with 4.

ODU's Camron and Wilkins tied for 2nd in TFL's with 10.5, WM's Hyde with 8

...should be another GREAT match-up, where it again appears with no surprise it being the CAA that both teams appear to be evenly balanced.
You're comparisons are a little skewed because W&M has had a much tougher OOC schedule. Better comparison would be to use the stats from CAA games only.

I believe the stats I originally posted and the link you posted are the same...Im pretty sure I made sure that the rankings I posted are from "CAA Games Only".

I just love the way certain CAA fans still like to disrespect ODU. The last W&M post pretty much says it all.

The reality is that ODU has a very talented team that has a very talented coach. I don't think W&M will hang with us because you won't be able to score enough points.

It's okay. I guess you are all thinking that this is your playoff game because you won't be in this year. That's okay with us. ODU 9-2 for the "regular" season is okay too, but with our freshman QB with a year under his belt, and the players back that have been hurt, we have a good chance to improve on this years record.

Let's see, I congratulated ODU on a great season and predicted my team (the only VA school to beat ODU) would win Saturday. It's hard for me to see how I disrespected ODU unless I assume that everyone who is picking ODU to win is disrespecting W&M?

You guys have had a great season on the field, I will root for my team, even though their season has not been as good as yours.

Too bad your posts aren't as good as your team's play.

I predict

ODU 31
W&M 21

This is, of course, as long as we don't get them in a 4th and very long situation, then all bets are off.

LeadBolt;

You are correct. I didn't read all of your comments. Unfortunately for W&M though, I wasn't far off with my prediction. We did score the 35. Your highly talented running back though, played his best game of the season. I'm VERY impressed with his talent, and suspect we'll all see him on Sundays in some capacity.

See you guys at Forman Field next year.

We're looking forward to it.

I would have thought by the margin of victory being 4 rather than the 21 you predicted (a difference of 17), your prediction was fairly far off and my prediction of the margin of victory being off by 7 was closer and less disrespectful than yours.

Okay. Yes I was off a few points on the spead. However, didn't I see your prediction having W&M winning pretty handily? That must mean that which of us was more accurate?

Enough is enough. We love competition at ODU. Can't win anything in this forum for sure. :twocents:

Right now we just want to get well so we can (hopefully) go deep in the playoffs. We at ODU know that we not only have the talent to do so, but the drive as well.

One last gig and I'll let this go............10th in the CAA? REALLY?

My prediction was W&M BY 3, yours was ODU by 21. The outcome was ODU by 4. Those are the facts, spin them anyway you want. Thanks for the last gig, kind of like the cheer your players led....

Okay. No big deal. You win on the spread.

This was a very big game for us for more reasons than braggin' rights. It meant being not only in the playoffs but hopefully getting a bye and a home game possibly. If our players lead a cheer that upset your sensibilities, for them I say....."we're sorry about that".

Congratulations on a good win and a great season. As long as you can avoid 4th and 29, you should go far in the playoffs. While you are apologizing, I'll say I'm sorry that your sensibilities were offended and thought I was disrespecting ODU by predicting a 3 point W&M victory.

That's not true at all. A collapse as monumental as ODU's is for all to share in. It's not every day you see the single worst meltdown in all of I-AA, nay, in all of sports.
