Meanwhile, ODU just keeps chugging along, dominating the CAA in impressive fashion with 3 of it's 4 fall sports having top 25 rankings, including a top 20 ranking for football in our first year ever in the CAA and a number 1 ranking and undefeated record for field hockey.
I can see why UD fans are out in numbers trying to bash us......jealousy is a smelly cologne, and well, if you've ever driven through that dump Delaware on your way to somewhere better, (like Newark freaking New Jersey, because let's face it, why would you EVER stop in Delaware) you've noticed the, umm, smell.

In field hockey news, #1 Old Dominion beat #3 Maryland 5-2. UMD's only losses this year are both to ODU, and the loss snapped a 39-game home winning streak for the Terps.
Congrats to the Blue Hens. Disappointing loss for the monarchs.
In other ODU sports news,
ODU womens basketball is getting thrashed by Georgia Tech.
However good news is that #2 Field Hockey advances to their 17th final four and will play the winner of Syracuse/Maryland.
Looking forward to seeing where the selection committee will put men's soccer in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. I believe the CAA has a chance to get 4 teams in with Delaware, ODU, Georgia State, James Madison. I believe VCU and WM will be on the bubble correct me if im wrong...just going off assumptions.
Hey razor....UNI's basketball team wants to know how it feels to get embarrassed at home like that by a team with 1 senior....starting TWO TRUE FRESHMAN and playing three true freshman....and playing 2 rFr.

honest question, then why post it? Anyway ODU is obviously just not a very good basketball team right now and have numerous problems...I might be making excuses but this team has no identity, absolutely none compared to the last two years, maybe even 3. However, I believe with time this team and the players individually will start to fill into their roles. The only guy on the team who has any sort of leadership and role is Kent Bazemore and while I believed he played 30 minutes the other night he isn't nearly to 100% just yet. ODU started Anton Larsen, one guy who has showed ODU fans very little upside, I think many would say he has NO upside. ODU started a PG who isn't made to be a starting PG in Marquel Delancey. Also many believe ODU was without 3 of their top 5 players in Hill, Ross, and Wright. This is a team that hasn't had a whole lot of time yet to play together and gel. As for UNI I think their trip to where ever during the offseason was very beneficial to them because while they are a young team they had the opportunity to play quite a few additional games together...ODU on the other hand only had two games before Saturday night.

It was a beatdown born out of our terribleness, not out of your skill. Enjoy finishing 5th in the MVC this year, you aren't very good. We just suck dogballs.
Hope we get to play you in football.
Also, way to post AFTER the game when you had nothing to say before. Real manly. Considering most of the d bags we "talked too" when we went up against Iowa State in the Capital One bowl, I really think Meth has fried the vast majority of Iowan's brains. Just say no kiddies.

ODU Men's soccer receives an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will host Liberty on November 17th. Winner will play 16 seed Indiana.

Iowa State is a terrible team to try to deal with their fan base....Iowa and Iowa State's fan bases are just SEC fan bases in Iowa...it's bad.
As for finishing 5th? Meh, having NINE FRESHMAN on the roster...and having 5 OR 6 of them playing every night will lead to ups and downs. FWIW, UNI was picked to finish 4th in the conference, and a 3rd or 4th place finish with a good conference tourney run gets UNI into the NCAA's. The MVC will be hell this year.
Tee MVC is a VERY good basketball conference this year. Reminds me alot of last year's CAA, where VCU finished 4th in the league and lost in the CAA tourney Final to ODU, yet made the Final 4.
Finishing 5th in the MVC actually isn't really that much of an insult lol.
Delaware upset #1 seed JMU, where JMU was previously 9-0-0 at home, in penalty kicks 2-2 (5-4).
