U-Haul crashes in to Harvard-Yale tailgate... 1 dead

NEW HAVEN - Several sources and media outlets are reporting that three pedestrians have been struck by a vehicle on Central Avenue near the Yale Bowl where crowds are heavy for today's Yale-Harvard game.
details hard to find atm...

sounds like the driver has been arrested already - but that's all that I have for now

if the driver was alcohol-impaired, they should be shot.
If the driver was sober, then they should be beaten for being a shitty driver.
(assuming the article was correct in that the truck was "out of control", as opposed to pedestrians not watching where they are going and stepping out in front of a truck)

pure conjecture on my part - but it would seem possible that what you had was some person who had no business driving a big-ass u-haul... didn't know what they were doing - and - as can happen in unfamiliar vehicles - went to hit the brake, and goosed the gas instead... smh

Why is everyone blaming the driver. Those people shouldn't have been walking down the middle of the street, or sidewalk whatever.

I am not sure about that because the brake is Always on the left, unless it's a manual transmission.

Unless they don't know how to drive or were impaired. I'm guessing alcoh is involved here... *enter Carrie Nation*

eh - it's always on the left - but those things have bench seats, and at least in my experience, the pedals were not immediately comfortable in relation to the wheel (it was very different than say, my toyota)...

If it was a drunk driver, put them in jail for life. I don't understand how that is anything less than premeditated homicide. They knew what they were doing, put them in jail forever.

Its a tail-gate atmosphere, also, if you can't seem a human in front of you, you shouldn't be driving.
