McNeese State & Sam Houston two SLC teams in polls

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - McNeese State and Sam Houston State received another preseason top-25 ranking, as the Cowboys are No. 12 and Bearkats No. 23 in the Coaches Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) poll, released today.

For McNeese State, it is its fifth preseason ranking, including four in the top-10 ranking. The Cowboys are ranked highest by Lindy's Magazine at No. 4, while the Cowboys are also ranked No. 9 by both Phil Steele's Magazine and USA Today Sports Weekly, while also earning a No. 10 ranking from College Sports News, No. 13 ranking from Sports Media Entertainment and a No. 12 ranking from AnyGivenSaturday.com.

Sam Houston State earns fourth overall ranking so far this season, as the school is ranked the highest at No. 17 by College Sports News. The Bearkats are also tabbed No. 20 by AnyGivenSaturday.com and No. 25 by Sports Media Entertainment.
