Yep, easy to say when you know it does not have to be backed up. There is not much difference between the top of the NEC and the PFL. I think Duquesne finished with more wins than Albany and came in second in the NEC. The Dukes were lucky to get by a fairly poor UD team this year. Drake and USD would both give Albany all they could handle.

Not that it really matters but I wonder why Nicholls State shows up as getting 4 votes. The Colonels finished 1-10 overall and 0-7 in conference play. Must be some kind of typo.

Well, North Dakota State beat UNI and UNI's ranked higher than them. Plus North Dakota State pistol whipped Minnesota. I got a chance to watch the game between UNI and North Dakota State and North Dakota State physically dominated. The only thing that made it close was UNI having a good, athletic, quarterback. At least that's what I think.

How people could vote UNI ahead of North Dakota State is totally beyond me. Based on what I saw North Dakota State is more physical and better on both lines of scrimmage. Not that UNI couldn't beat them. They could and almost did. But North Dakota State won the game for Pete's sake and looked like it should have won it by more.

But that's the way it goes.

Everyone was seeded 1-16 back then. You may have not been in the top 4 but you were seeded. FWIW, we were seeded 13th when we lost to you in the semis in 00.
