Harvard has cleared the first of four major hurdles for this season. We defeated Loyola Marymount at their home court 77-67.

Next major hurdle: Battle 4 Atlantis (two ranked teams will probably play us in Florida State and UConn) this Thanksgiving weekend.

(The four hurdles: LMU, Atlantis, UConn at their home court, and of course the 14-game "tournament". I considered LMU as a major hurdle partly due to their upset of UCLA in their opening game.)
Top two wishes of Ivy football fans everywhere: Playoff participation by the Ivy champion and the diversification of opponents in scheduling games.

ODU defeated South Florida today, 68-66 in overtime. Now 3-1 on the season, all of a sudden the UNI debacle sort of seems like a distant memory....

I don't know about all of you or if any of you have season tickets to bball.

Do any of you really hate that the school schedules games for playoff saturdays? Either before/during/after the football game? Now I know some teams don't know if they will be in the playoffs when the bball schedules get made up, or if the institution has any control over it, but during the Griz streak of playoff games it kind of sucked that there would be a game after a Griz home game. Attendance suffered, somewhat. Who wants to go sit inside and watch bball after a big win or, heaven forbid, a devistating loss?

In other MEAC bball news. Norfolk State bounced back from an opening game drubbing from #19 Marquette on Nov. 14 to make a run to the finals tonight of the Paradise Jam tournament in the US Virgin Islands where they will face....#17 Marquette.

UNI has a clusterfuck on December 3rd due to playoffs.

Home playoff game at 4
Home men's basketball game at 7
Mens wrestling meet that was scheduled to be in the dome, but it has been moved to another arena on campus
UNI also has a 99% chance of hosting NCAA Tournament Volleyball matches as well on that Friday and Saturday (which would be in the McLeod Center, same arena as basketball and directly connected to the UNIDome)

Shit will be crazy and events will be moved, times will be changed...fucking crazy.

PS- with no NBA hopefully we will see more college games to fill the void on hoops. It would be great for alot of programs-nationally and regionally.

ODU gave the #2 team in the country a HUGE scare on Sunday as ODU was within 1 point of Kentucky at the 7 minute mark. The Wildcats eventually went on to win 62-52. I rarely believe in moral victories but I believe this is one. This young monarchs team proved they could play with anybody in the country.

Something must be in the water in Norfolk. First NSU vs Marquette now ODU/Kentucky. When will these two powerhouses meet on the court??

maybe it was just an anomaly. Earlier this week the Monarchs followed that great performance against UK with a terrible performance against Vermont at home and lost in OT. :ohno:

Check out this brutal schedule for the Monarchs before they get into the heart of their conference schedule....

ECU, @ Northeastern, @ Fairfield, @ UCF (just upset #4 UConn today), @ Richmond, VMI, Missouri.
