What I do know is that going 7-4 in FCS and beating a DII will keep you out of the playoffs in favor of juggernaut Eastern Kentucky.

One thing that makes it look like a relatively weak year for D-II is that Northwestern State beat Delta State 24-23 to start the season. Normally I'd think a D-II good enough to make it to the semifinals would beat a FCS team at the level Northwestern State was at this year. Of course Delta State made it to the championship game last year and lost 32-17 during the season to Jackson State. That was pretty weird too.
