So Montana has less relevance than the MVFC, because it hasn't won since before the MVFC won it's last title.89Hen wrote:Agreed. However, four different CAA teams winning the chipper since 2003... that's another story.Gil Dobie wrote:

North Dakota may end up with more wins than the Big Sky.

Both teams win......as long as NDSU continues to host, they will continue to win through the playoffs. That is all....back to your pooh flinging, monkeys.

Let's stop pretending Youngstown State is chopped liver. They (YSU) had a ton of close losses and have the best QB-RB tandem in the MVFC, so they're not god-awful. Recently they have given NDSU fits...home or away. It happens. Bad losses happen. I'm not sure I would claim JMU outclasses YSU in any category, personally. Not justifying losing to them, but you need to give credit where it is due and Youngstown wasn't bad at all.The_Fan wrote:Strommer10 wrote: After watching JMU last week, I'm not impressed. It would take an absolute meltdown for NDSU to lose this one. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they are better than what they played like, but that is what I saw. UNI will have a tough time, but I think they can pull it off as well.
speaking of "meltdowns", how did NDSU do against an unranked Youngstown team at home just 2 weeks ago?

Cook is better than any one back UNI has. And Hess' numbers were damn good for a sophomore.clenz wrote:Wrong...rkwittem wrote:

Sorry pal, but I'm pretty sure that the MVFC All-Conference first team had Kurt Hess and Jamaine Cook on it. Didn't see UNI's RB on either the first or second team. Rennie made the first team, but again, no other UNI skill position guy made the cut. Be as subjective as you want- I'm going to take the word of coaches who played and game planned for these guys over some internet fans'.clenz wrote:Wrong...rkwittem wrote:

An interesting thing in the Spartanburg paper today. Ayers said that UNI had not seen a 3 -back formation, or at least not consistently, and they key is how they'll adjust to that. UNI has only played like 2 triple option teams all time (call me out if that's wrong?), one being Nichols State, the other GSU in 85.

Re: How Many MVFC Teams Survive The Round of 16?
I don't know if UNI has played more than 2 TO teams but I do know that Farley played against GSU in 85. If memory serves, Tracy Ham and GSU gained more than 500 yards on the UNI D that day and they still needed to score with less than 2 minutes to go to win the game in regulation. For those UNI fans that think playing a TO team is like playing any option team, it isn't. Mo St ran the option back then and GSU's TO was like nothing UNI had seen before. I do have confidence that Farley will use his experience and the extra week to have UNI as ready as possible for Wofford.youngterrier wrote:An interesting thing in the Spartanburg paper today. UNI should be favored but Wofford is more than capable of winning this game.
YT, is there any chance I could get my hands on a Wofford playbook? I'd be interested in looking for elements that I could incorporate into the playbooks for the youth teams I coach.

There are some threads in there with WU plays diagrammed.
It also seems you can call up their coaching office and speak with them -- send 'em $20 or so (most likely for copying and postage expense) and they'll hook you up, and turn your 'youts' into little Ankle-Biters.

I'm going with 1. NDSU should take care of JMU but I think UNI is going to have their hands full with the ankle-biters.

umm....I dunno, but you could go to the terriers youtube page and watch some highlights, I've watched them a few times and stopped and started each play, it's easy to figure out some of the plays I thinkUNI88 wrote:I don't know if UNI has played more than 2 TO teams but I do know that Farley played against GSU in 85.
