I don't think anyone has said Wofford is a nobody and absolute crap. That seems to be the insinuation though about UNI, kinda annoying.
I'm sure Wofford does chew up a lot of clock and rack up a ton of yards. Check out the TOP and yards gained by Ill.St in that final season game against the Panthers. Then look at the score.
UNI looked helpless at times but that defense kept going strong against a type of offense that plays right into our biggest defensive weakness, which is an inability to cover short, middle-field passes because our LB's like to play up and our Safties like to play back. Yet we still overcame the odds because of the D's heart and tenacity. There are a lot of things that you can't find on a stat sheet and hunger and heart is one of them. This team is hungrier for a win than JBB is for...well, you know...

Holy ****, you'd think this offense makes teams unbeatable....It's not like UNI's run defense is complete **** ****. Hell, UNI is only giving up 3.3 yards per carry as a defense and has faced some damn good ground games this season.
UNI is 28th in the nation in total defense, 20th in rush defense in total yards per game at 120 (but remember that 3.3 yards per carry, but teams continue to try to run on it to the tune of 38 attempts per game), 4th in scoring defense, 5th in the nation in turnover margin, averging 6 tfl per game.
Wofford may get some yards, but it isn't like UNI's defense doesn't have the one of the best DT's in the the nation, and one of the top 4 or 5 front 7's in the nation.
Hell, if anything Wofford's defense is going to cost them the game. Their defense looks to be fairly average, and UNI's offense is very potent. They are bottom half in the nation in pass efficiency defense and both UNI QB'S that have played this year are very efficient with the passing game.
I admire and respect both programs. UNI is a perennial contender. My only point was not to underestimate Wofford.
On the plus side for Northern Iowa, though, Kraig Paulson is not their defensive coordinator…
We used to name it a 'salt & pepper' line call, but the little cross-block mini-trap is the way they roll.
Great game so far for Wofford -- hope they can keep it up.

Wofford return man collects the ball in the endzone... lingers, but doesn't down it - panthers swoop in and take it out of his hand and fall on it for a TD... WOW.

Same guy had a personal foul on the previous drive that resulted in 1st and goal from the 8 and then he roughed the kicker on the FG which resulted in 1st and goal from the 2 and a TD. He just gave UNI 11 points in about a minute.

We have done a much better job of slowing the TO in the 2nd half than we did in the 1st.
I feel bad for #2. If they lose this game, he's going to be beating himself up for a long time.

No excuse but it's a big day in Cedar Falls. Men's basketball played Colorado State earlier in the Missouri Valley/Mountain West Challenge and the #6 women's volleyball team is playing the Florida Gators tonight in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. Bottom line, turnout sucks for a #5 seed at home in the playoffs.

I said slow not stop. You don't stop the TO, you try and slow it down and force mistakes which UNI has done in the 2nd half. Has Wofford made some bone-headed mistakes? Yes. Has UNI been lucky? Yes. Will it still count if UNI wins? Yes.

ehhh....we had just as many yards in the second as first. But we lost. mistakes killed us. I'm beyond words. UNI is a good team, but if I were them I'd hope they don't see GSU in the championship game.
