Montana State may be better on paper than Stony Brook, but the Seawolves were playing their best ball of the season while the Bobcats quite frankly aren't. Denarius McGhee has been interception prone in recent games & that doesn't bode well against a Bearkat team that is +25 on turnover margin this season.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:
I don't see SHSU pulling this one off - but then again, MSU has had a propensity to not show up for important games in the past - I believe they are the better team, just need to get their heads on straight and it should be at least a 1 TD win
This game really has the potential to be a great game regarding what teams show up Saturday. If they both play the way they did this past weekend it's going to be a penalty and mistake prone game. Both teams can score some points so this game will be decided by the O and D lines. Can either MSU or Sam get to the QB and make one team, one dimensional? Sam's secondary looked very suspect this last weekend against stony brook, but that was because they were dedicated to stopping the run. The safeties and CB bit so hard on PA plays. I think this week Sam's CB wil not be put on an island and they will have safety help over the top. Home-field advantage is key for Sam that number one seeding guarantees they won't have to leave Texas the whole playoffs, and Bowers is going to be rocking on Saturday. It's going to be a great game and very close, but I believe Sam wins 24-21.
If I were a betting man I'd take that spread and run. I can see SHSU winning the game, but that's a lot of points to give up for a game that should be extremely even, if not tilted MSU's favor.
It all depends on which Cats team decides to show up on Saturday and if McGhee doesn't spend a half forgetting which team he plays for again. If both teams play to their capabilities I'm taking the Cats by 7.

Because it sounds like a home game when you hear a mountain lion sound over the PA

Lets go 'Cats and show everyone what the BSC is like this year - would love to see a rematch, even though the Griz are playing as complete and good as football gets at the right time.

I'm thinking to myself ... "Why put #11 in at QB -- #6 is 'The Dude'"
Then, #11 tosses that TD pass
SHSU - 7
MSU -3
