Sam vs Montana..

Montana brings a very, very strong front offensive live. If the coaches make the calls right then Montana will run over the BearKats defense all day long. However, the defense cordinators for Sam are quick and smart to make the crorrect changes needed to win on the defense side. We have seen this throughout the year. Montana will adjust their game plan after they watched the Montana State game. Even though I'm a Sam fan i'm sorry Montana will be the toughfest game played. Sam watch out for there Tight End. This guy is expolsive at times needed! Sam make the adjustments after watching there game they performed Saturday. They will bring the same attack to Hunstville.

Montana Fans have a safe trip to Texas...This will be an excellance game match...

Listening to him after his far too long hiatus from CS, one would hafta' think he spent his time away from this fine site at the "Lunch in Missoula This Friday" meetings...because he's starting to sound a lot like the folks that usually show up at that time of the week!

But, I've yet to see his wit & word smithing skills at such a get together...FWIW!

Griz win this one going away..but I'd be careful about posting pics like that on the interweb. Up here, antelope that small aren't legal to shoot, and FWP is pretty strict about it!

Wait a second...that's no antelope! What the hell are you doing culling small whitetail bucks from the population? Another example of Texas stupid, eh?
I would also suggest that in the future, it's probably not necessary to preface your posts with "No professor here..."

Should be an interesting match up on the line - the front four for SHSU absolutely overwhelmed the 'Cats OL, in my mind one of the keys to SHSU - looks to be strenght on strength next weekend.

SHSU was able to drop 5-7 in coverage and still get pressure on the QB - I don;t think they will have as much success against the Griz, but anyone who thinks that SHSU isn't deserving of beinng there based on the conference needs to share whatever they are smoking.

I expect a great game next weekend.

MSU sucks and is irrelevant. MSU did exactly the oppostie of the Griz. MSU came out hot and got shitty, Griz came in slow and got in beast mode. SHSU and UM will be a damn good game(or atleast should be.) I think both defenses will be pretty dominant. Low scoring game Griz win 24-17.

So tired of seeing so many ignorant posts about how Sam Houston State is overated and is going to get beat every week. Before the Montana St. game nearly every prediction, and all over the forums had predicted that Sam Houston was going to lose to Montana St. That is a fact. Sam Houston deserves respect for the performances they have put on all year. Montana St. came down to SHSU all big headed and cocky and got their asses wipped on National Television. Not saying that Montana can't win in Huntsville. Just saying Sam Houston is the real deal and is a force to be reckon with!! Hope this turns out to be a great game as it is going to be Nationally televised again and gives each university great exposure.

Again, I know you're just smacking but...

It's the Houston metropolitan area. I'm pretty sure Missoula would come a lot closer to qualifying as "backwoods."

I know they were very impressive Saturday. But you have to realize that going into that game they had not been impressive in non conference play. The only read people had on them in non conference play against teams from other FCS auto bid leagues came from a 20-6 win over the last place team in the MVC (Western Illinois) and a 34-27 last minute win over Stony Brook. That's not real impressive.

Their other non conference wins were a 48-45 overtime win against 1-11 FBS New Mexico, a 22-7 win over first year program Texas San Antonio, and a 36-14 win over a team that was in the Southland last year and finished 6-6. This past Saturday was by FAR their most impressive non conference performance of the season. If you count Texas State as a FCS the average score for their games against non conference FCS teams prior to Montana State was 28-14 and only one of the non conference FCS teams they'd played finished with a winning record. That was Stony Brook. I think most regarded Stony Brook as a pretty easy playoff draw and itself finished 1-3 in non conference play during the regular season.

Until Saturday there was no reason to believe Sam Houston State was anything but over rated by virtue of being a top 4 seed, much less the 1 seed. Saturday changed that some. But it didn't change the fact that until then they really hadn't looked top 4 seed caliber in their non conference games.

Bear wrote:It is utter bullshit that THE University of Montana Grizzlies, a marvelous collection of God-like warriors, must suffer the indignation of having to travel to some backwater, tumbleweed town in Texas. This, in itself, is bad enough. But once there, to have to conduct a football clinic on a "field" such as that? I suppose it's minor consolation that the track team will be able to get in some pre-season work while the gladiators from Missoula put on a show of force so unbelievably powerful, so thoroughly omnipotent, so completely dominant, that the Bearkats are left to wonder "what, oh what did we do to incur the wrath of so merciless a foe?"
They remember the Alamo in those parts, but come next Saturday, the mighty Grizzlies of Montana will give the good people of Texas something else to remember, though something they'll try desperately to forget!
Up with Montana, Boys!!

Son, it is fairly obvious you don't know a d@mn thing about this part of Texas. There's not a tumbleweed within 450 miles of Huntsville because it's in the middle of the Piney Woods. Wouldn't exactly call a 1hour drive from Downtown Houston "backwater" either! Yeah, we remember The Alamo, but get ready because we're going to attack like the Texans did in The Battle of San Jacinto. Read some history for your homework assignment there, Hoss!

I do have to admit, before this last weekend, I was completely looking past the Bearkats.

I believe the Bobcats did to some degree as well, but they are also the Bobcats and cant get too far into the playoffs or the universe will implode.

I'm very excited for this matchup, It will be a fun game to watch.

From what I was able to watch, SHSU looks like it has some great team speed and a very effective running game.
400+ yards on MSU  - that's pretty sweet.
The Griz defense is fast as well and is Great at stopping the run. It will be awesome to see how the big boys match up on both sides of the ball.

I'm of course pulling for my Grizzlies and I fully expect them to win, but regardless of who wins this game, if GSU doesnt pull out the win at NDSU, I hope the winner of this game beats the crap out of the bison.

GSU is a fantastic team; well coached, wonderfully conditioned, highly motivated and possessing of third-stringers at every position that would be rock stars if they played at NDSU. Unfortunately, all the talent in the world isn't enough when your opponent is playing with an 18-11 man advantage (Lehigh was only the latest to learn this the hard way). When the officiating crew is so thoroughly and embarrassingly in the NDSU hind pocket, the visitors-no matter how superior they may be-stand little chance. :ohno:
Thankfully, the NC game will be played in an actual football facility (i.e., one that doesn't host job fairs and business conventions in the off-season like the fargodome). On that field, the Mighty Grizzlies of Montana will destroy the hapless and hilarious North Dakota Clown Circus!!
Oh Montana, You are Glorious!

How are you guys traveling? Taking buses? That would be smart considering the cost of flying these days. It should be fun for you guys traveling all the way down to Texas and then playing a football game!

Will you guys pack the equipment in horse trailers like UND or do you have another system thought-out? I know, because of the unusual circumstances in the BSC, that you arent used to traveling.

Good luck to you in the Jr. Bowl. Great Lead-in game to the nations FCS Spotlight game with GSU visiting the NDSU BISON at one of the nations legendary football venues in what is by all estimates the virtual national chapionship game. The chipper as some of you say. :D

Good luck fellers (sic)!! :thumb:

Hey, come on guys. We love college football. Just because you guys are travel bitches for SHSU is no reason to tee-off on me. I dont know if you load the horse trailers like your new butt-buddies UND or not. I just know you have worked your way into the Jr. Bowl!

What a hoot!

This is the under-card to the big NDSU BISON game. Thats the way it is fellers (sic). Its not me really! Its just the nature of the under-card. :thumb:
