They have Mount Union as an underdog at home in a playoff semifinal. Kind of not TOO shocking because Mount Union has had some close games this year. Not as overwhelmingly dominant as usual. But still shocking. Mount Union has lost at home in at least one playoff semifinal before. I remember Mary Hardin Baylor doing it a few years back. But it hasn't been done often.
Massey is out of touch. Here is what Wesley is up against:
...Mount Union is making its 23rd tournament appearance and has a 72-12 record in playoff games. The Purple Raiders have advanced to the Stagg Bowl 14 times and have won a record 10 national championships...
...The Purple Raiders have a 59-game home winning streak dating to 2005...

I am not a Massey Worshipper. I like Sagarin and Dunkel better. But Sagarin doesn't do non D-I and I couldn't find Dunkel predictions for sub D-I either.
In any case it's not as outrageous as it usually would be. Mount Union has not been its overwhelmly dominant self this year. It actually had two close calls in regular season games against Ohio Northern (14-6) and Baldwin Wallace (25-20).
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star? Deep Purple: No One Came
Wesley played Mt U valiantly but lost 28-21. The latest of several semifinal exits for the Wolverines. They lose a lot this offseason. Here's hoping they can reload and break through soon.
Sorry I was out of the loop this weekend. I was at a USATF Level I Coaching School in Fresno.
Here are the scores:

I watched a lot of the 4th quarter of that Wesley/Mt. Union game (love ESPN3 and the multiscreen viewing). Wesley had plenty of chances to win, just too many bad drops by the WR's in big spots. They had Mt Union on the ropes and, in the immortal words of Dennis Green, they let em off the hook.
I hate to sound like a jerk, but the DIII playoffs are the worst postseason in all CFB to me. Not because I don't like them, but only because it has boiled down to the same 2-3 teams every year. While I enjoy college football in all its forms, DIII simply lacks the variety that the other levels do.
