Appy is flatlining because of Wofford and Furman. Hope your SoCon rings acknowledge them for helping you with the task you couldn't manage on your own.

What?
They're switching the App/ECU game to the 1st to accommodate some scheduling changes for the SEC, and moving the important game to the 8th. Sucks for people wanting to piggy back on the Labor Day weekend holiday. Or people who already have plans in place.

You see, this right here pisses me the fuck off.

I hate it too. I was looking forward to a Labor Day weekend game in Boone for a change. Now we get to die in the heat at ECU plus back to back home games which will probably hurt attendance for the Citadel game on the 15th.
I hope Appalachian was well compensated for their generosity.
Otherwise, screw East Carolina. And if it takes screwing the SEC to do it, I'm all for it.

Why is Appalachian/EZU not at the Big Boy Field in Car-lotte ??
50k x $25 = $1,250,000.00 -- could go to 60k with a lot of local support. East Carolina fans are notorious drunks -- - they will spend a bunch of money and fit in well with the few UNCC fans who show up to support FCS football. Get those Uptowners motivated for a Labor Day college football spectacular. Both ASU and EZU travel well, and both have substantial alumni bases in Metrolina and the Piedmont Triad.
And, I figure most of the Montana folks will simply extend their Labor Day drunk in NC for a week or so. We are, in effect, doing them a favor, see ...

With App St. losing a few folks and with Montana losing both the OC and DC, how is the game shaping up?

Damn near total turnover in the ASU coaching ranks, plus the loss of Quick, Presley, and Cadet. On the other hand, we played very conservative ball last year with questionable playcalling and a bunch of younguns on the line and still managed 8-4. I look for us to be much improved on both lines, but we'll have to see how recruiting works out to see if we develop a running game and rebuilt some of our receiving corps.

Really? I didn't know App St had that happen.

Western Carolina pillaged us first:
Former Appalachian State defensive line, running backs and inside linebackers coach Mark Speir, who spent nine seasons in Boone, was hired to become the next head coach of Western Carolina, it was announced Thursday.
