Let's just hope the NAU hoops team doesn't pi$$ it down their collective leg like our football team did with our win over Oregon State.

Congrats to NAU. Pretty shocking considering their coach just bailed on them. Well done.

Our season ended once Fleming blew his calf in a tug-o-war contest mid season.

Except Fleming played like crap in half the games he started, and the two guys that replaced him played well at times (particularly the EWU game).

Inconsistent QB play & horrid special teams tanked the Hornets' season.

Which is covered ad nauseam in SD's outstanding season review at SacBuzz.

And hence my comment that we p!$$ed the season down our leg.

Agreed but neither of the backup QB's (specifically Safron as he saw the bulk of the playing time) improved their passing ability as the season progressed. Defenses had to at least consider defending the pass when Fleming played, the Hornets were completely one dimensional with Safron/Edwards.

The EWU game is kind of misleading as I don't think EWU expected to see Safron or Edwards.EWU figured Safron and the offense out and played much better defense in the second half. Of course not having a kicker didn't help matters either. :ohno:
