NDSU has both and a damn good QB/WR combo. Not discounting SHSU, I hope they win the damn thing, but they won't. I imagine SHSU is going to pull every trick out of their magic bag. Oh and NDSU will have three weeks to prepare for that SHSU offense, not 1. Unfortunately we will be seeing that stupid prairie cow logo on top of this page for a year.
I suppose if someone wanted to do some comparisons these would be a good start.
SHSU v WIU 20-6 (Beginning of the season at SHSU)
NDSU v WIU 37-21 (End of the season at WIU)
Which actually worked out pretty well in the SHSU/UM matchup. We both slaughtered MSU and UCA, and the game between us ended up a 3-point affair.
Not sure how WIU put up 21 on North Dakota, but their defense seems to be playing better now than it has all year. Then again, SH's offense seems to be playing better than it was at the beginning of the season too.
I still think North Dakota pulls this one out, and I'm not sure it'll be real close. I'm guessing 31-17 or something along those lines.

What I saw until Flanders saved SHSU was that the Bearkats were starting to wear down in the 2nd half from the pounding of Montana's offensive line. No offense to Montana, but I think NDSU is even more physical than them and will almost certainly attempt to wear down the Bearkats defensive line. I'll even guarantee that it is NDSU's offensive gameplan.

I think the Bison team you see in Frisco will be a bit tougher than the one that played against GSU. This is due to a 3 week lay off and a lot of nagging injuries that will heal.
Ugh, it PAINS me to admit, but I think NDSU will win this one. The team deserves it, MOST of the fans do not. I had the chance to see them play many times while I was living in Fargo, and they have a damn good program.
So from this Griz fan, go Bison.

Not sure I can agree with the statement of NDSU being more physical than Montana,
but both are definitely very physical teams, and yes, Montana's physical advantage did seem to wear on SHSU as the game progressed, which diminished the Kats' speed advantage to some extent (just not enough to swing the outcome of the game).
But it should definitely be a good game here in a few weeks

Question: Does North Dakota run a hurry up/no huddle offense? Because THAT was why SHSU's defensive linemen were sucking wind by the end of the 3rd quarter.

This thread seems to be going the same way as the MSU, MU and to a lesser degree even the SBU thread went. " SHSU will lose". Funny how in this thread its all about the Bearkats D running down in the 4th. When it really counted though with 5 min to go in the game it was the Griz D who could not make a stop. They new exactly what we were going to do and who was going to get the ball. just sayin.
And its not all about Flanders, each games in the playoffs the bearkats have featured different people. Flanders only had 38 yrds on the ground vs MSU. It was Sincere (among others) who ripped the hearts out of the Bobcats. With 3 weeks to prepare coach Fritz will probably come up with a different scheme all together. Im sure after the Bearkats win this board will continue to discount the Kats. Cant wait for next year when we are preseason #1(all skill players are underclassmen) and play our "weak slc schedule". This site might just explode.

I'm not sure how you can root for UND Willie, it just hurts a little doesn't it?

As we continue to sit in silence while the CAA fans are scanning the bracket trying to figure out where the hell their teams are....................I will make the pick, NDSU. Too much of everything (except speed) for SHSU.

Where's the weekly trolls telling us that NDSU can't win and the MSFC sucks. blah, blah. blah.
They are mostly going after Lakes and JBB and it's taken away from football talk on cs.com. I would like to hear their unbiased input a lot more than their response to Lakes and JBB.
This guy is the biggest anonymous dumb-ass I have ever seen. Thats not hate either, its disgust. The high and mighty gill dopey doesnt like folks going after lakes and JBB because it takes away from the football talk yet the nincompoop uses his signature line to taunt and troll. He fits right in with the culture of hate prevalent on this board.
Shame really.....

This will be a rust fest, not likely to be very well played.
Yet another reason they should have left the playoffs at 16 teams.
By the looks of the SHSU scores they could have been given a bye to the Title Game, I guess some of you fellers call it "The Chipper" . They werent really challanged by either of their opponents.
One thing we do know, the Option is not some kind of mystery. A good defense can stop it every time.
Watch for the call. Its coming up.

Thanks for confirming your stupidity for the umpteenth time.

2) Didnt put good hits on the decoy back. A lot of times when the dive back was decoyed the Montana defender would let up when they noticed. They should follow through with a good tackle, drive the running back to the ground.
3) Didnt respond with their own offense. It was dismal. 2 consecutive scoring drives were stopped by Montana mistakes.
That game was a yawner and never in doubt.

The game is over and Sam won fair and square, but if you think a three point loss doesn't constitute 'challenging' a team, you're just a complete...well, JBB.

Tim Flanders is a true talent. Has he met a young man named Colton Heagle? That will be interesting.
Can NDSU win on the road? Ask the U of Kansas and the U of Minnesota that question. Someone said that Sam Houston tickets were already sold out. So are NDSU's.
The Sam Houston players will be in for a rude awakening when the meet up with the young men on offense for NDSU. Remember these names, Billy Turner, Austin Richards, Joe Lund, Paul Cornick, Sam Ojuri, DJ McNorton, Ryan Smith and most important Brock Jensen and "Big Tex" Hollaway
And NDSU's defense is even better

Not sure what we will do with only Tim Flanders. Doesnt seem fair that you can name 9 players from your own squad.
See the SHSU vs MSU box score. please note Flanders only had 38 yrds rushing, but the team had over 400 yrds on the ground.
