Thanks, I was thinking he meant mean center and not geographic center.

Let's be fair though. This year's matchup is the perfect storm for Frisco. It's not going to be like this every year.
But it was rarely right for Chatty either. Unless ASU was playing.

You too need to be fair. The game was on a Friday night last year, the same time as the Cotton Bowl in the Cowboys 100K seat stadium a few miles down the road. If you are a casual fan from Texas, are you going to go see UD vs EWU or LSU vs Texas A&M?

The two teams in the game were from 1,000+ miles away. SHSU is 200.
This stadium isnt filling up with Cotton Bowl fans. Ill be in Frisco Friday night and will watch it from the bar if I pay any attention at all. This game is filling up with 10,000 NDSU fans and 10,000 SHSU fans. From the looks of things these are the biggest draws in the division on the road.

or at least a POS post.

I understand that it's all an effect of supply and demand, but it would be nice if the schools involved could get a cut of some of those ridiculously inflated prices. Granted, I'm not sure how such a system could even be implemented, especially since some schools at the FCS level don't exactly have overly competent ticket distribution systems as it is.
Obviously the schools arent charging enough, and of course they really dont have any idea which games will be the big ones. But, if the schools could charge what the market could bear the fans would certainly want them to be in their own special level of hell wouldnt they? Maybe some liberal can make a law so it will be fair again as long as the government controls it or maybe we can just let the market work?

Tickets in section 125, the same as mine, are now listed at $1,330 each on stub hub. I dont know what the face value is but my first order, immediately after the NDSU BISON win over GSU, in a section directly across the field from 125 was gone and I wasnt successful. They were $95. I immediately went across to 125, had to pay $98, you could see them flying off the shelf.

I have 4 tickets and 2 hotel rooms listed for sale for $4000, but Im not selling. I found out we all want to go to the game.

Well, in fairness: When that discussion was going on, who in their right mind would've thought Sam Houston State would be in a national championshp game in just the second year of the game's residence in Frisco?

It's a Texas team in a national championship game in Texas. Someone look it up but I think that before this year there has only been one instance (1989 SFA) of a Texas team being in the national championship game. Then you look at how Southland champions had been doing recently. Seriously, anybody who says they would've expected this back then is lying through his (or her) teeth.

Don't get me wrong. I was in favor of moving it to Frisco. But I really didn't think we'd be seeing a Southland team from Texas in the championship game this soon....if at all.

That's not far off. But, my point was the posters on here from the unofficial Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce would have led you to believe the FCS NC game was facing imminent doom if it left TN.

Last year's game was the first played in Frisco, on the same night as the Cotton Bowl, and featured two teams that couldn't have been more geographically removed from Texas. EWU is around 2000 miles away.

I'm glad that this year's game is sold out. But let's not try and compare this year's game with last year. This one features a Texas team only 200 miles away and another team with a large traveling fanbase. And it's not competing with the Cotton Bowl.

Again, this is new and novel for North Dakota and essentially a home game, and also new and novel, for South Houston.

North Dakota is a good fanbase. I'll give you credit for that. You will probably travel equally well to the Montanas and Delawares of the subdivision given extended success. This year is your virgin-popping at the championship game, so there is an extra draw due to the newness of it all. Once you make it a few times, that will start to settle down.

Can't underestimate the importance of having it on Saturday this year as opposed to Friday night last year. The locals were apparently vociferous that they had trouble getting to a 6PM on a Friday in Frisco because of all the traffic so there'll be a lot more locals this year. And obviously for fans flying in Saturday is a better day to target than Friday night - less days to take off of work. Even when a Texas team isn't involved, those changes will help a lot.

Hardly new and novel for NDSU fans, but certainly a welcome event to be in another National College Football Championship game.

NDSU has a fan base that travels as well as most in the Big 10. As one of the top 5 programs in the country the NCAA should hope and pray NDSU is in it every year. The EWUs of the world sure are fun to watch and they play a fun brand of football, its a hoot, but it is in a decidedly D2/D3 atmosphere. Nothing wrong with that, just the way it is.

NDSU on the other hand looks more like a major FBS program.

Take a look at this game compared to the modest interest last season. What a change when the teams playing in the title game are teams that actually look like top level FCS programs. An EWU or something, schools that draw D2/D3 numbers as most do in the BSC, just dont have the impact on the national scene that NDSU has although Montana has served as a nice also-ran from time to time. :D

All the big NDSU BISON victories over the BCS/FBS/BIG 10/12 programs have certainly brought the focus of the FCS football world to Fargo. Now because the BISON are headlining this event, the nations FCS football world will focus on Frisco because thats where the BISON Are!

So let me get this straight.

You tell others to quit hating in their posts and to quit all of the hate in their lives...so you post more hate just because others post this or that...all the while you advocate against, AGAINST, the hate.

Really doesn't make sense. Please enlighten us all with your knowledge.
