Weber at PSU was just amazing to watch. PSU was on fire for 3/4ths of the game but was out of gas the last 4 minutes making just 1 FG.

Weber was behind almost the entire game despite shooting over 50% and committing just 6 turnovers.

Lillard scored 38 points including 8 3's. He even hit a half court at the halftime buzzer.

weber now has 3 straight at home then travel to the bottom teams then back for a few more home games. Great shot at winning them all or most of them. Bullinger should be back by Saturdya for the Griz hoopefully.

For both genders combined, there were 17 games this week.

The home team only won 4 of them. :?

Katz' inability to have the Hornets ready to face a reeling UNC team speaks volumes. I was going to hold out hope until at least next season (we'll have a bunch of returning starters next season) but I don't know if I have that kind of patience. :ohno:

Hey, CD, I'd guess if you take Kuhns out you're well on the way to winning the game. I can't figure it out. Sac State is certainly tall enough - looks like over two thirds of the team is listed as forward and over 6'. Goes to show how important integrated teamwork is. It's going to take a year, but next year you should be very very good.

Portland State shot the ball like Demons in the first half, but really got cold in the 2nd (well not cold, but close to it).

Credit to Weber, for hanging tough and battling back, the Big Sky officiating was bad as usual, but they are at least bad on both sides.

Wow, Weber. Woman's team.........what's up with that? How can one be a borderline top 25 team and the other a 2 win team? Weird.

Yup, and we were playing that game without our starting pg and our best shooter was limited in his minutes.

Their women's team is rebuilding (first new coach in 23 years).

And have you seen their message board? Every time women's basketball is brought up, a contest breaks out where the posters go out of their way to prove they aren't gay by hating on the sport.

From my point of view, I do not like Womens basketball, I have gone to several Womens games at Weber, and even though I root for them, I get bored easily. It goes all the way up to pro womens games, I cannot watch one on tv. I just dont like Womens Basketball, I also dont like watching golf, soccer or tennis.

It's not uncommon for the general masses to root for what is successful. It's just like what goes on in Missoula or Bozeman, both schools get WONDERFUL football support and attendance, but thier basketball teams dont even average half of what thier football teams do.

With ISU and NAU without a coach is there a chance we see another Sky coach gone or maybe next year?

I'm with you on that, I don't like watching it much myself, but I was just kind if surprised to see such a difference between the two teams. But if it's the first new head coach in 25 years or whater, it makes sense that they're struggling some.

looks like montana is the women's bball power house.

http://bigskyconf.com/sports/2008/6/5/PSTWBBCHAMP.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

griz appear to win it just about every yr. i can only see 6 of the 9 current members have ever won the big sky and weber has only won it twice, 2002 and 2003. so that means big sky women's bball was only 5 yrs old when weber hired its previous coach and she played at weber so that means she would have been involved in the program since its first yr in the big sky til getting fired.

Count on me in the masses who like winning. It's why I root for the PSU women; they win more consistently. Certainly has a lot to do with coaching; Murrell is good. But she does seem to have trouble recruiting tall players. If we had a strong center or two to compliment our outstanding guards and forwards we'd be hard to beat this year. As it is, we might - might - win tournament. It would be embarassing, since without our height we'd die a quick death in the NCAAs.
Yes, given bad teams women's basketball can be ugly. With good teams there's not much diference from the men, though.

Reinforcements coming for Weber State

http://www.standard.net/stories/2012/01 ... g-wildcats

Frank "Mook" Otis and Kyle Bullinger will return to play for Weber tonight after sitting out several weeks with injuries.

In the article it says that only Mook will be back today, but a Weber poster has said this this morning
